Hi I'm Dustin

I grew up in a small farm town in Nevada. I served a mission in Mexico. I now live in San Francisco with my wife.

About Me

I am a young, married member of the LDS church, enjoying my early married days with my wife traveling, exploring our city, and seeing the outdoors as much as possible. If we're not out hiking or biking, we're visiting friends, becoming amateur foodies, or seeing movies.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up a member of the church. I feel very blessed to be raised by amazing parents who spent time with their children and taught them not only what was right and wrong, but taught us how to learn for ourselves what we can do to live happy and successful lives. They taught from the scriptures, the words of living prophets, and their own experiences. This framework has helped me throughout my life to find answers that I was looking for: Is God real? Does He know me? How can I be truly happy? Is there a true religion and, if so, am I attending the right one? Through the Bible, the Book or Mormon, and personal prayer, I have learned the answers to these questions and it has truly changed my life. I know what I need to do to be happy in this life and after. I have had spiritual experiences that I cannot deny that have confirmed these answers to me and I know that anyone can do the same if they truly and humbly are seeking answers. I come from a rural area where most are religious and God-fearing people. I now live in a city where my values are not only different but unpopular. As a young professional in the finance industry, the idea of starting a family and spending as much time with them as possible is somewhat foreign to my peers. Spending time going to church and trying to improve my relationship with God is seen as "weird", and I am often the lone man standing when it comes to views on moral issues. This environment has been a blessing to me to be able to strengthen my belief in Jesus Christ and His gospel. When my beliefs and standards are not shared by those around me, I am forced to question why I believe these things and in doing so have been able to receive confirmation that what I am doing is right and that Jesus Christ is the true source of happiness in this life. I have learned for myself that the Mormon church is true and that through the restored gospel we can receive all of the blessings that God has prepared for His children.

How I live my faith

I serve in my church by helping with clerical duties and finances to help the organization run more efficiently. When our members make donations to the church, that money goes to various causes, including welfare, disaster relief, caring for the poor, and construction of temples and churches, among others. I help submit these donations and make sure our members' records and contact information is accurate and updated.
