Hi I'm Janice

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a mother of 7 grown children, 10 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren. Always a lot happening in our families, and most of it is positive and fun. I love any gatherings we have on birthdays and holidays and any other times. In my precious little bit of free time I love to read and sew. I'm not a professional seamstress, but I can sew most things and I try to make gifts for the family with my sewing machine and the skill I do have. It's a lot of fun and very fulfilling to me. I love to read all kinds of true books but especially books from the leaders of my church, because I want to be knowledgeable about my religion, and I for sure, want to know what Heavenly Father expects of me. I love life and try to find joy in all things. Each year I grow a garden and try new techniques. Some things are successful and some aren't. This year I learned more about soil. I am writing my life history which is a process, and I've started a book of memories which are not in chronilogical order but recorded as I have a memory pop into my mind. It's a lot of fun to do..

Why I am a Mormon

I have chosen to be a member of the LDS (Mormon) church for several reasons. The first thing that really interested me was that this church claimed to have living prophets that receive revelation from God. Because this world needs this very much, it seemed right and true to me. Also I learned that I could have an eternal family in the next life if I was faithful and obedient to the necessary steps to take for that blessing. That alone would have been enough for me to join this church, because I always wondered and worried about what would happen to my relationship with my children, whom I love so much and couldn't stand to live without, after I died or they died. And I wondered where I would go after death. The missionaries taught me the plan of happiness and salvation that Heavenly Father has for each of us and I got baptized. I love this church so much because it is so true. I still stand amazed that I actually found the truth of the purpose of life. I am forever indebted to God for sending it to me.

How I live my faith

I love serving in my church, and I'm grateful to have had so many opportunities to do so. I have had several church duties in the 35 years I have been a member of the LDS church. Currently I am participating in the ladies organization. It's fun to get to know these ladies on a more personal basis. I feel so good being privileged to work in Heavenly Father's church and kingdom. I know this church is true and I know that it has a living prophet of God to guide the people of the Earth. How comforting to know that the Heavens aren't closed and Heavenly Father hasn't forgotten us at all. He does have a plan of happiness for us all and I am so blessed to have knowledge of it. I try to live my faith by keeping the commandments of God and by listening to the Prophet of the church and doing as he suggests, for I believe and know that he speaks by the spirit of God.
