Hi I'm Lois

I'm a mother, wife, daughter and sister. I enjoy reading, sewing, and knitting.

About Me

I love people. My many hobbies include reading, sewing, knitting, crocheting, swimming and learning ASL American Sign Language. One of my favorite things to do is play with my grandchildren It works out well, as I am a child also.. Traveling the country is another a favorite thing to do. Visiting my family around the country offers most of my opportunities to do this. Enjoying nature and all God has offered us is by far the best activity, since I can do it anywhere and it is so uplifting.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Morman because I discovered the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, learned about it, read the Book of Mormon, prayed, and realized this was the church God wanted me to join. Since then, my testimony of the Gospel and ofthe The LDS Church has grown immensely. I know this is the true, most complete church on the earth today. I know that the Lord has provided us, now, currently, with a Prophet, as in the 'old days', to lead and guide us. I know that we are able to live as families for eternity. Living the Gospel to the best of my abilities, growing spiritually, learning to know and rely on Jesus Christ are the most important things to me. My family is equally important, but without the True Gospel, I could not find the way to be together eternally.

How I live my faith

I enjoy participating in my Church services and activities. I have been a volunteer in many areas, including the Red Cross, the Women's Auxiallary of the Chippewa Volunteer Fire Dept, various committies of the Parent's groups in the Blackhawk School District, and Indexing records for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I try always to have a kind word, a smile for those I see, and a helpful attitude for anyone, friend or stranger, who crosses my path.

What is the difference between attending church and the temple?

Lois
Attending the Church is a weekly activity. We worship together, receive Sacrament, study scriptures together and generally edify each other. It is a part of how we keep the Sabath day Holy. Temple attendance is a bit different. For me it is more special: since there is travel involved, there is more preparation involved. The real difference is what we do and feel inside the Temples. We perform Sacred Ordinances that cannot be done in the Church building. The Spirit of God is felt more strongly in the Temple, the quiet and peaceful nature of the Temple is a wonderful, upllifting experience. It can feel like a true haven from the distractions of the world. Show more Show less
