Hi I'm Eliza

I am wife, a mother, and a teacher. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

We live in New York.  I'm a happy wife and mother of 2 beautiful girls and 2 handsome boys. I love my family, I love my church, and I love my friends. I enjoy jogging, eating good food, gardening, good music, card making/scrapbooking, reading, and teaching.

Why I am a Mormon

I have a testimony that we are all children of a loving Father in Heaven. I know that he sent his Son here to this world to be the perfect example for us and to die and be resurrected so that we too can live with Him and our families for eternity. I have read the Bible and the Book of Mormon and I have prayed to know if they are true. I have felt the Holy Ghost in my life and I know that our lives have purpose. I am so happy that I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I love the declaration that says, "As a worldwide sisterhood, we are united in our devotion to Jesus Christ. We are women of faith, virtue, vision, and charity." I live my faith everyday by reading scriptures with my family and saying prayers. I attend the temple and I sustain the priesthood. I serve in the church and in my community. I am the president of a community organization that supports mothers. I'm also the president of the women's organization in our ward. I love the sisters I see and we all work together to understand our divine destiny.

What is the First Vision?

We live close to Palmyra NY and have the privilege of visiting the Sacred Grove often. The First Vision refers to a vision that Joseph Smith Jr. received in the Spring of 1820. He went into a nearby grove to pray and ask which church he should join. He wrote, " I saw a pillar of light exactly over my head, above the brightness of the sun, which descended gradually until it fell upon me. When the light rested upon me I saw two Personages, whose brightness and glory defy all description, standing above me in the air. One of them spake unto me, calling me by name and said, pointing to the other--"This is My Beloved Son. Hear Him!" I was answered that I must join none of them, for they were all wrong and the Personage who addressed me said that all their creeds were an abomination in his sight that those professors were all corrupt that 'they draw near to me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me, they teach for doctrines the commandments of men, having a form of godliness, but they deny the power thereof.'" If you are every near Palymra, NY I strongly recommend visiting the sites there and taking the tours from the volunteer missionaries. Show more Show less
