Hi I'm Jennifer

I am a college student and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have lived in a lot of different places including Utah, New York, and Georgia. I love to play volleyball and I play at my college on a competitive league. I like to draw and create things. Right now I love do create different types of grafitti. I would never tag a wall illegally, but I do enjoy creating grafitti with paper and sharpies. I also love to read and learn. I enjoy cosmetology as well. I practice on my roommates all the time. They're really good sports about it. Plus they love getting their hair and nails done for free . I am one of six children, where I am the second oldest. My older sister is married and lives in Alaska with her husband. Then I have a younger sister and 3 younger brothers.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I am so greatful that I was and that I had the opportunity to learn principles at a young age that would help me to be a good person. I have studied different religions in a comparitive religions class in high school. I noticed that there were a lot of churches that taught good principles and morals to its members, but I didn't have the same feeling about their doctrine as I did in mine. I feel the Holy Ghost every time I study my scriptures and pray and when I attend my temple. There is a peace and sense of security in our places of worship and in our doctrine. Also I love the fact that we have a modernday prophet much like the children of Isreal in Moses' time. It made sense to me that God would want us to have a leader to help us get back to him and give him revelation to guide us on a path that will lead us back to be with him and our Savior again. Everything has a purpose in our church and everyone in our church pulls together to benifit the entire church.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by helping others.

How can we come to know our Father in Heaven?

The easiest way is to get to know our Heavenly Father is through prayer. Actually talking to him is the best way to understand him. If you don't talk with someone and only listen to what other poeple say about them you never really get to know them. You need to talk with them yourself in order to not get any bias from others. We don't worship Joseph Smith our any of our prophets. Worship is only for God. We are greatful for our prophets for what they do for us but we don't worship them. Show more Show less

What is faith?

Faith is believing in something that you can't see. It is like believing in gravity or the exsistence of electrons in an atom. You believe in them even though you only see the effects that happen because of them. Show more Show less

Why do Mormons perform baptisms for the dead?

We do this because we believe that baptism is one of the essencial things you need to do in order to obtain the highest level of immortality. There are some people, however, in this life that don't have the opportunity or didn't accept the gospel in this life and shouldn't be punished because of this. They therefore have the chance to be baptised by proxy here on earth and have the choice to accept or reject that ordinance. We just want to give those deceased a chance to accept or reject our religion if they so choose. It is ulitmately their choice, we just give them the opportunity. Show more Show less
