Hi I'm James

I'm a student, a husband, an accountant, a baker, and sometimes a photographer. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a college student studying accounting. I enjoy baking, cooking, weight lifting, running, photography, foreign films, and travel.

Why I am a Mormon

Living my faith is something I truly enjoy. It makes my life much more calm, it gives me direction. I know that God is my Father in Heaven, that I am his child. Everyone on this earth is a child of God. Knowing that He is there, leading and guiding my life, gives me comfort and reassurance. Life has a lot of ups and downs. God doesn't take the hard things away or take away my problems. But His influence and His gospel help me and teach me how to get through difficult trials and be a better person.

How I live my faith

I try to make my faith a part of my daily life. I study the Bible or Book of Mormon daily, and pray often. I enjoy going to church meetings each week, where I help the missionaries coordinate with other members of our congregation in their teaching efforts.

What are some things that tell you there is a God?

For me, looking at the world around me tells me there is clearly a God in Heaven. The color of the sunrise, falling rain, intricate flowers, colorful leaves, our bodies - they are all such incredible things - things I don't believe just came about by chance. I believe that the world around us shows our Father's love for us. I've felt God's love for me on many occasions. Sometimes this is when I'm in nature, having a moment to reflect and think. Other times it's when I'm feeling stressed or worried, and I'll feel a sudden calm. I know that when we try and connect with God and communicate with Him, He listens, He hears, and He answers. It isn't with a voice, and the answers are not always the same. But He does answer. He has answered my prayers in many ways, letting me know He is there. Show more Show less
