Hi I'm Aly

I love mathematics and soccer. I'm a new mother. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up playing many different sports: volleyball, basketball, softball, track, and, my favorite, soccer. Anytime I can start up a game of anything, I do. I played goalkeeper in soccer for my college team to help pay for my schooling. Though I love soccer, my real passion comes in the classroom. I love to learn new and exciting things in literature, social sciences, and especially math. I got my degree in mathematics, and I hope to one day return to the classroom to complete higher degrees. I married my true love in 2007, and right now I have the pleasure of staying home with our 5 month old baby girl. I never thought I could love anyone so much! My family is the most important thing to me, so it's great that we all live so close and get together almost every week.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents discovered the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in their youth, and they raised my family in the church. I have almost always felt that the church was true. When I was 16, my sister, whom I am really close to, left for college, and suddenly I felt really alone. I started to doubt what I had been taught about the gospel, and I felt isolated from, not only the world, but from God. It was during this time I felt that I had to know for sure what was true and right. I began to more diligently pray to my Heavenly Father that I might know if He was there for me. I had this good feeling that I should read the Book of Mormon and ask for an answer. Slowly, as I read the Book of Mormon daily, I just had a feeling that it was true, and that I was never alone. I felt the love of my Heavenly Father every time I read. It took a while to understand that I knew the answer all along. It came slow and steady as I steadfastly read and prayed. I know that this church is true, and I know that my Heavenly Father loves me, and he'll never leave me, and that is why I'm a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I love to go out and be with people and share with them my love and enthusiasm for life. It's great to meet new people and leave them with smiles on their faces. My 5 month old daughter is the best at that. She smiles at everyone she sees, which starts quite a few conversations with the people we pass. I hope that I can share the love of Jesus Christ with all I encounter.
