Hi I'm kim

I grew up a Mormon and always knew the peace of the gospel. This has helped me as 2 of our 6 children died.

About Me

I am married to a farmer. All our children are now married and we love being grandparents. It's so fun! I like to cook, sew quiet books, and read. I love people and their stories.

Why I am a Mormon

Although I was born into this church, I became converted to it with my whole heart as I studied and prayed. Our 4th baby died of S.I.D.S. and by reading the scriptures, I received comfort and peace. He was 7 weeks old and I am so thankful for the knowledge that I will see him again after this life. Then, almost 19 years after he died, our oldest son died in an avalanche. There is really no way I would have made it through that time of grief without the testimony I have of Jesus Christ. I know He is there to comfort and help us through all we go through in this life and that He loves us. The most important thing we can do is learn to listen to His voice and to obey His wishes which is always to love others.

How I live my faith

Right now my husband and I get to serve at BYU-Idaho in a college ward, or church for the young single adults going to school there. We enjoy working with these wonderful students and we see their strength and faith in the gospel of Jesus Christ. When they come to our home for home evening, we always cook a potato dish, as that's what my husband raises. I love to go to church and hear their testimonies of the Savior and His love for them and each of us. There are students there from all over the world, some from Africa, Denmark, South America, and other countries. They are beautiful and are a great example to us. They are willing to serve others, in spite of their school schedules. We love serving with them at this time.

What do Mormons believe about family?

kim
My family is my greatest treasure, besides my testimony that God lives and loves us. I could not imagine life without my husband, children, and grandchildren with me. I love that this gospel teaches us that our relationships continue after this life. When our 7 week old baby died of SIDS, that morning, I was so filled with sadness and grief. Then I knew that the level of sadness and depression that I felt at that moment, would be the level of happiness and joy that I would feel when I was reunited with him again, because of the resurrection, which is because of Christ's resurrection. Our oldest son died 18 years after his little baby brother died. He had a young wife and two very young children. Our family knows that he is living in the spirit world. We know that we will see him again. His children know that he is still their dad, and that he loves them and that they will be with him again one day. Heaven would not be heaven without my family there as my family still. I know that families truly are forever in God's great plan of happiness. God is so good! Show more Show less
