Hi I'm Jacob

I'm a full-time missionary who is loving serving the Lord. I like to smile, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm the second oldest of six kids, I play the piano, and enjoy doing pretty much anything outside. I grew up in American Fork, Utah with the best family in the world. Anything I can do with my family, I do it. We have that much fun together. I am currently serving a full-time mission in the California Roseville area. I find so much happiness in sharing the gospel with people I come in contact with and I love the people that I serve around. I really like spending good, quality time with people and building relationships that last.

Why I am a Mormon

I've grown up in a family that has always been very active in the Mormon church, but that doesn't mean that we're the perfect family. I've had my struggles in life but I know that when I stay close to the Lord, I will get the help that I need from Him. I know that God loves me and wants what's best for me. I feel of His love for me when I pray to him and share with him my concerns in life. I'm so grateful to be a part of this amazing church and have seen many ways that it has blessed my life.

How I live my faith

I am part of a Singles Ward and I have the best calling ever! I am in charge of weekly Monday night activities, or Family Home Evening. We always have so much fun when we get together as young single adults whether we're playing games or having a spiritual lesson. Attending church activities has always been important to me in my life. It helps me grow closer to the members of my ward and, in turn, helps me grow closer to my Heavenly Father. There are also many other things that I can do that help me live my faith. Obeying God's commandments is a huge one that I've seen bless me so much in my life.I know that as I obey the will of God, he will bless me. I go to church every Sunday, I read my scriptures, I say my prayers. Just the little things add up to really make all the difference in the world.

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

Personally, the reason I proselyte as a missionary is because the Gospel made me so happy and brought so much peace into my life and I wanted to share that with everyone! If I wasn't going to be the one sharing it with them, who would? I want people to experience the same joy that I have the past 19 years. Show more Show less

What will the Mormon missionaries talk about when they visit my home?

My favorite thing to share with families when they let me in their home is how through faith in Jesus Christ, they can find peace and happiness in their lives. The reason I share that is because of the great influence that it has had in my life and I just want to share that same feeling with those I come in contact with. I know that as we learn more about Jesus Christ that we will be able to know that it is really through Him that we can find happiness and take part in our Heavenly Father's plan so we can return and live with Him again. Is it true that Jesus appeared in North America after his crucifixion and resurrection according to the Book of Mormon?

I know it's true. How do I know? Because I read. Because I asked. Because I prayed. It only makes sense to me that Christ would appear in North America because it shows that He loves all of us the same. One group of people or one nation is not more important or better than another. The Gospel of Jesus Christ was to be preached to everyone and Christ had a desire to organize His church everywhere! The American continent included. Show more Show less

Who founded Mormonism and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints?

Through the love and the power of God, He reached out to His children and called a prophet to bring back the Church of Jesus Christ on the Earth with the same authority that was found in the Church when Christ was on the Earth. That prophet was Joseph Smith and that power, the Priesthood, is what makes the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints different from other churches. Now, with the authority of the Priesthood, the Church was able to be reestablished into what is known today as the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. So I wouldn't so much say that Joseph Smith "founded" the Church, but through him, it was Restored! Show more Show less

What do Mormons believe about the Bible? Do they regard it as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

I love the Bible! I know that it is the writings of God to His chosen seers and prophets. Anything that I know to be delivered to a prophet by the power of God, I will regard as scripture. Bible = scripture. Simple as that. And because I know it's scripture, I know that as I follow the teachings, I can receive guidance and happiness in my life. I'm so grateful for my knowledge of the Bible, even though it is limited. I'm still learning and loving it! Show more Show less
