Hi I'm Laura

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a 24 year old college student. I grew up far away from where I attend school, where my parents still live, so I have sufficiently developed roots and wings. Missionaries found my family when I was 15 and my mom and I were baptized when I was seventeen. Joining the church changed my life completely. I found happiness, healing, and a wonderful life path i never would have suspected. My major is psychology. What do I want to do with that? I want to work with sick kids and their families as a Child Life Therapist. It feels more like a life calling than a chosen profession, just something I am meant to do. My passion is music. I love to sing, and I have been playing flute since I was 8. I have been blessed with some of the best family and friends anyone could ask for. My life is always an adventure and I am excited to see where God lead me.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I know that this is the true church. Through study and prayer I have come to gain a testimony of my very own that God is there and loves me, that Christ atoned for us and lives, that the gospel is true. I'm a Mormon because the teachings of Christ provide hope and clarity in an uncertain world. I'm a Mormon because I want to be with my family forever. God will reveal the truth of these things to any who ask him.

How I live my faith

I live my faith in everything I do, every day. It's part of who I am. Everything is a blessing from God. I have had many opportunities to serve in the church, both to be an example, and to learn from the faith of others. I have taught music to young children, served on the LDS Student Association council, even done some genealogy work. I try my best to take each step as God guides and approves. Recently I felt prompted to move to a different city for the summer. I don't know why yet, but because of my faith that God has a plan for me I know His purposes will be brought about if I obediently follow. The beautiful part about life is that it's not perfect. There are bumps and mountains along the way as well as the easy moments. My faith in God and Jesus Christ is what gets me through it all.
