Hi I'm Elisa

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hi. My name is Elisa. I have worked hard, and along with the support of my family and friends, have achieved my lifelong goal of becoming an elementary teacher. I've taught since the turn of the century & have taught grades 1-5. I am currently enjoying teaching 5th grade. I enjoy spending time outside in the summer. You can always find me biking, rollerblading, or playing softball. I have a fun-loving personality & an infectious sense of humor.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I have lived my entire life in the gospel, and I am glad I've had that opportunity. The Lord provides so many ways for us to stay on the right path so we can return to live with Him, and the gospel teaches us how. I continue to learn and grow in the gospel, and am striving to live by its precepts, because I know it is the way we can live happy lives now and throughout eternity. I love how the gospel teaches us to help each other. We are not in this world alone, and are not expected to make it on our own. Everyone is here trying their best, and we need to help fill in the gaps in others' lives as they help us in return. I know that Jesus Christ is our Savior. He has atoned for our sins so that we can be clean and return to live in His presence. He also suffered for our pains and sorrows. He knows what it's like to feel the pain of lonliness, transgression, sickness, or other sorrows. He has compassion for us. He has unconditional love for us. He has done all He can so we can return to live with Him and our families, and all we need to do is our part. I am a Mormon because it teaches me how to live in happiness.

How I live my faith

I was born & raised in the gospel & it has been the center of my world. Without the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter- day Saints, my life would be grim & empty. I would feel lost and alone. Through the unity of the church I have made many friends who become, in a sense, my extended family. Everywhere I go, even though I have been single far longer than I have planned, people have enveloped me in love & have carried me through very difficult times. The reason is because this church is centered on the Lord Jesus Christ & His teachings & those people who strive to be obedient & live like Him have a love of service & concern for their fellow man. I have worked with the youth for many years and I love it. Their spirit of wanting to better the world & make a difference in people's lives is contagious. The idea of me being their leader is for me to provide a positive roll model & example in this world of lessening morals, but oft times I find they are an example to me! They are the hope for the future & if we teach them to create a friendship with the Lord & stay close to His teachings, then hope for the future is bright!

What do Mormons believe about the Holy Ghost? Who is the Holy Ghost?

Elisa
I try to be obedient to the Lord's teachings so the Holy Ghost can guide me down the path of Heavenly Father's will for my life. He can comfort me in times I am scared or sad & can testify of things that are true. Thoughts come to my mind and are accompanied by feelings of joy or love & that's how I can tell the Holy Ghost is speaking to me. Show more Show less
