Hi I'm Amanda Grace

I'm a missionary in the Cradle of the Restoration, I don't know what my future holds and that's okay. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently serving as a full-time mission in the New York Rochester mission. This is where the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was first restored to the earth through Joseph Smith, the prophet. I have the honor and privelege of working at the historical sites here. The Joseph Smith Farm Joseph and his family moved to Palmyra, NY in 1816. The Hill Cumorah where Joseph was led by Moroni to recieve the plates that he would translate by the gift and power of God. The Book of Mormon Publication Site where this book was first printed, bound and sold in the restored rooms of E.B. Grandin's bookstore. The Peter Whitmer Farm where the Church was formally organized on April 6, 1830. Please come and visit us! Pre-mission, I was going to school to be a nurse and worked at the hospital. I absolutely loved it, and will finish my degree. I love the outdoors! Travelling, camping, hiking, rock climbing, skydiving, scubadiving, swimming, running, everything. I love music, movies, dancing, learning about other cultures, learning in general. I love to read...anything. I love hanging out with friends and meeting new people. I can't wait to backpack through Europe!

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the Church and as I have been serving as a missionary, some people have told me, "Well, you believe it because it's easy," "all you've ever known," or "you believe it because your parents do." I appreciate the opportunity to tell people that this is not true. I know for myself, independent of anyone. I have read the Book of Mormon and prayed to know that it is true. Joseph was God's prophet and Christ really has restored His true church to the earth. I have gained that witness and you can too! I am a member because in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, I can make sacred promises covenants with God, and gain blessings that are not offered anywhere else. Eventually, I will be able to go to the temple where, by the priesthood authority of God, I can be sealed to my future husband and our relationship will last beyond death. Heaven would not be heaven without those that we love. Only by this priesthood power can families be together forever. And! It just makes sense! Why would God only speak to His people in Jerusalem when He had children that He loved just as much in other parts of the world?! He wouldn't. That is why the Book of Mormon is so valuable. It is a record of God's children in another part of the world that had the SAME gospel. Another testament of Jesus Christ. God truly is the same yesterday, today and forever, so His church would need to be the same here, there and everywhere. The doctrine does not change from building to building just the people do. These are just a few reasons why I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

How I live my faith

As a missionary, our whole life is devoted to inviting others to come unto Christ by helping them recieve the restored gospel through faith in Jesus Christ and His Atonement, repentance, baptism, recieving the gift of the Holy Ghost and enduring to the end. You may not know this, but we are not paid. No one in the church is paid for their service in the church. I have left home, family, friends, school, everything. I gladly devote all that I am to serving as an authorized representative of Jesus Christ. Because it's true. And I want everyone to feel the happiness I feel when we come to understand that we are children of God who loves, and has a plan for us and our families. So right now, this is how I live my faith. I study my scriptures EVERYDAY to earn the right to have the Spirit to be with me to prepare myself to go out and find those who are prepared to recieve the message we have. I preach the gospel and the Holy Spirit bears witness of the things I say. I am so humbled to be a part of the great and marvelous work and I absolutely love it.
