Hi I'm Karyn

I'm a wife. I'm a mother. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Not too long ago, but not yesterday either, I married my best friend. We are the parents of the most enchanting baby girl we've ever met, and eagerly awaiting the arrival of our next princess. I've been blessed to be able to be a stay-at-home mom, and I love being here to see all of the new things my daughter is learning. She makes each day a grand adventure. In my spare time I enjoy reading, being outside, and taking pictures of my family. As a family we enjoy playing games, going for walks, watching movies, going out to eat, reading together, singing, and simply being together.

Why I am a Mormon

Every blessing I have comes from being a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The more I see and experience, the more I am convinced that living the principles of the Gospel is the key to being happy. Guiding principles like moderation, chastity, and staying out of debt lead to practices that promote spiritual, emotional, and physical well-being. It's more than that though, I am a Mormon because the Church has the priesthood, the authority to act in God's name. Through ordinances performed in our sacred temples, our families are sealed together for eternity, bound together on earth and in heaven, through the same power the prophet Elijah manifested in the Old Testament. Being together forever as a family, beyond this earth life, is the greatest blessing I can comprehend.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by faithfully attending Church, serving the children in our congregation by helping with Sunday School classes, tracking attendance, and creating a monthly newsletter for the children and their parents. In our home, my husband and I have family prayer and scripture study with our daughter, and reserve Monday nights for special time together as a family, where we talk about the Gospel. I also volunteer my time indexing genealogical records (such as the recently released 1940 census), making the records searchable to facilitate family research. In my personal life, I try to live my faith by adopting the teachings of the Gospel, looking for ways to follow the counsel of our prophet and other Church leaders, and striving for self improvement.

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

Karyn
We believe that we are all children of our Heavenly Father, and it is our sincere desire that every member of the human family share in the happiness that we have as members of the Church. Our Heavenly Father wants all of His children to return to Him, and our Church sends missionaries all over the world to spread the invitation to come unto Christ and be baptized. Show more Show less
