Hi I'm Robert L.

I'm one of those thrillseekin, music lovin, family oriented mormon guys.

About Me

If I had to sum up my life in one word it would definitely have to be "JOY!" I just love life. When adventure calls, I answer. When I have a chance to make a great memory, consider it made. Most of my time is spent practicing and performing music of some sort, but I still find time for and enjoy many other things. In the sports world I am a fan of ultimate frisbee, football, water polo, basketball, and well, pretty much any other outdoor activity one could think up. Lately, I have found a love for parkour and snowboarding as well. I love to work hard and improve my talents because of the sense of accomplishment that comes from growth. I like staying as busy as I can, however, at the end of the week nothing tops going to church and being spiritually fed and recharged for the week, then enjoying an evening with my family, playing games, eating desserts, and just enjoying each others' company. . . Then back to a busy week full of excitement, accomplishment, and joy!

Why I am a Mormon

Have you ever just woke up in the morning and thought, "man, life is good... I feel good." This happens to me more often than not. Long story short, the Gospel of Jesus Christ provides a happier, healthier way of life. The standards are set by God through His living prophet, and as we live them we experience great joy. As we obey His teachings we can find confidence in ourselves and compassion for those around us. I have learned this from experience. Also, I know the gospel is true because I have prayed and asked God for the answers and acted upon the answers I received. How great it is to know that we have a loving Heavenly Father who cares enough to hear and answer our prayers! How great it is that he loves us enough to give us modern revelation from a living prophet. How great it is that He loves us enough to provide evidence of these truths through the Book of Mormon. Read it, pray about it, put God to the test but don't be surprised when you find yourself saying, "Life is good...I feel good." He will testify of the truthfulness of the gospel by the Power of the Holy Ghost, often described as a warm feeling, a loving feeling, or a happy feeling. The Holy Ghost has filled my life with indescribable satisfaction and has brimmed my heart with joy.

How I live my faith

"Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven." Mathew 721 There is so much more to being a desciple of Christ than going to church on Sunday. Rather, we show Heavenly Father that we love Him and have faith in him through our every day actions. I find it is the little things we do in life that make a huge impact in the life of others. Smiling at someone and saying hi when they look like they've had a bad day, sitting with somebody who may be alone, maybe even just the simple act of taking a step back and allowing one more person to be a part of the conversation and feel included. Through these little acts of service something happens inside us, a burning sensation in the chest takes place, then we feel a deeper connection to those around us. We start to have love for one another. To answer the question above, I live my Faith by striving my very best to love those around me, and to show my love for God by serving them. In fact, I am currently serving a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in the great state of Oregon, and I LOVE IT!

What is the Law of Chastity?

Robert L.
Due to my striking good looks and cunning personality, I am constantly out on dates. Dating is fun! Let's face it, there are few things in life as exciting as spotting a pretty girl, getting that butterfly in the stomach feeling, asking her out on a date, then spending an enjoyable evening with her. However, it is so easy for things to get out of control. What may start out as an innocent evening with great intentions can lead to devestating emotional consequences, and that is where the Law of Chastity comes in. Because God's whole purpose is for us to have joy, peace, and love, the Lord has commanded that we reserve sexual relations until we are married. "That's crazy!" Some may say, but I have found that there is a direct coorelation between society's increasing premarital sexual conduct and the decreasing self confidence, self-respect, self-worth, and character. Instant gratification and heartache is all that follows sexual sin. God knows this, and that is why the Law of Chastity was put in place. It is a protection so that studs like me can go out and date, treat girls with respect and love, and build them up. It is a protection so that girls can get the respect they deserve, feel regarded, and gain confidence. It is a commandment from a loving Heavenly Father that helps us understand the widely misunderstood meaning of that powerful word "love." Show more Show less
