Hi I'm Trevor

I make movies, have traveled the world, started an outdoor adventure website, ran my own photography studio, and am a Mormon.

About Me

I work for the LDS Church and help produce videos such as Mormon Messages on youtube. Haven't seen those yet? Oh, you'd better look them up! I am into photography, writing, cooking, reading, and movies. I've recently gotten into time-lapse photography, BBQ cooking, and writing down my dreams. Hey, dreams are crazy awesome! I also love the outdoors. I love being outside and, this is embarrassing maybe, but often sleep in my backyard in good weather. I'm a happy man if I can have star's over my head. I enjoy: Archery ATVing Backpacking Biking Camping Canyoneering Climbing Fishing Hiking Historical Mine Exploration Off-roading Shooting Skiing (water and snow) Stargazing and astronomy Spelunking (caving) You get the point. I've been a fly fishing and backpacking guide, and have recently started an outdoor website focused on encouraging people and families to get outside and enjoy God's nature.

Why I am a Mormon

It just feels...good. I was born in this church and have never strayed. When I was 18 and about to leave on a two year mission to Italy, I realized I'd better figure out if I actually believed in the Book of Mormon and the restoration of Christ's church upon the earth. I thought long and hard, and prayed one night about this. I was hoping for a sign of sorts, so I would know that this all was really true. And you know what, I never got a sign or a miracle. What I did receive while praying was an instant peace and warmth, and the words came to my mind, "Why are you asking for what you already know?" And I did know. I still know. I have always known. There is peace here in the LDS Church I have not found anywhere else. There is peace in living the commandments, and obeying God. There is peace in studying scripture and reading and listening to the words of God's living Prophet and Apostles today. I love it. It makes sense to me. I know it is true and encourage you to continue looking into it. What have you to lose by doing so? And think of what you have to gain! It may not be easy. But nothing in life usually is. The most valuable things in this life are most often fought for: Love, knowledge, success. These things require sweat and tears. Thomas Paine said, "What we obtain too cheap, we esteem too lightly." What is of more value than God and a knowledge of his eternal love for you? I love this church. I love the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I am grateful for the examples the Apostles give me. I know, through sweat and tears, that this is all true. Keep going, my friend, keep going!

How I live my faith

Right now I am helping referee church basketball. Yes, that is an assignment in our church. We have organized teams for boys, girls, men, and women, in each of our wards (congregations) and we play each other. The winners get, well, nothing. But we all have a lot of fun! I also work with the Boy Scouts of America as a merit badge councilor. I am what we call a hometeacher. This is a calling where I and another man visit a handful of families in our ward every month, share a spiritual message with them, and help them any way we can throughout the year. For example, this often involves helping people move, or bringing in dinners when they are sick. I attend our Temple regularly, and am starting work on my family's genealogy. Well, to be honest, I am more thinking about starting work on our family's genealogy. My parents are giving an approving nod to this.
