Hi I'm Austin Tyler

I'm serving a mission in Guatemala. I love it. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

One year ago I left my home in Colorado to serve the Lord as a missionary in the Guatemala Retalhuleu Mission. It has been the experience of a lifetime and I have been tremendously blessed. Leaving home was difficult as I left behind a family who I dearly love, friends who I really miss, my studies, and countless other blessings and comforts of home. I enjoy all kinds of athletics, especially soccer, frisbee, skiing, and running. I consider the Rocky Mountains to be one of the most majestic of God's creations and I love spending time in them, whether it be camping and backpacking in the summer or skiing all winter long. Music, movies, reading, writing, and spending time with friends are some of my favorite things. I love life.

Why I am a Mormon

The Restored Gospel of Jesus Christ is definitely the number one priority in my life, but also the number one source of fulfilment, blessings, and happiness. I grew up in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, being raised by loving parents who taught me spiritual truths and principles that have blessed my life since before I can remember. I can daily see the hand of the Lord in my life. I have a firm and ever-growing testimony that Jesus Christ is my Savior and Redeemer. He suffered for my sins and died for me. The Book of Mormon and the Bible have helped me grow closer to Him as I have read them, studied them, and prayed about them. Through the Holy Ghost, I have received an undeniable witness that those Holy Scriptures are true, that God exists and loves me, and that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the Lord's true and living church here on the Earth. I know that Christ will come again, and I look forward with faith, hope, and excitement to His coming. Serving the Lord as His representative and missionary has strengthened my faith and changed my life. I love the Lord my God and will serve Him to the end.

How I live my faith

As a full-time missionary, I strive every day to follow the example of Jesus Christ by exercising faith, charity, diligence, and obedience. By applying my faith in Jesus Christ through those principles, I am able to repent of my sins and continue to grow spiritually. It is not easy, but I absolutely love missionary work. I spend every day inviting others to come unto Christ. The work requires much effort, whether in the form of prayer, studying the Gospel, serving others, teaching, or attending meetings. Faith, hope, charity, and love, with an eye single to the glory of God qualify me for the work. And those are my priorities.
