Hi I'm Patrice.
I'm a musician-in-progress. I'm an auntie. I'm a cookie monster. I'm a missionary. And I'm a Mormon.
About Me
I'm currently a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I'm an Albertan, through and through. I grew up in the countryside with my family of 10. I LOVE music! If I could play, listen to, compose, and analyze music all day, I would remain forever in bliss. I play the saxophone. Making cookies is not only my favorite pasttime, but also my de-stresser when university gets to be too much! I love to learn. I can never get enough of all the things there is to know in this world. Like paper folding for example! What motivated person played with a single piece of paper enough times to create a rose? It blows my mind.
Why I am a Mormon
I want to be happy, and I want to really be somebody. There are lots of ways to get that in life, but for me, I am happiest when I follow Jesus Christ. It's something really tangible to me. The restored gospel of Jesus Christ fills me up and teaches me how to reach my full potential with the help of a loving Father and caring Savior. I didn't always know this was true, but through steady learning, applying, and living the things I've been taught, I've come to know this is not just good, but true. And that's powerful to me. Everybody is looking for truth --- proof in scentific theories, a real manual for parenting, a diet that ACTUALLY works, the truths in the events of history, an honest friend --- the list goes on. Well here it is, from the Source of all truth --- A God who's there and cares.
How I live my faith
My parents taught by example how to reach out. I try to notice when other people are in need, whether great or small, and then do what I can to help. As a missionary, I've dedicated the past 18 months to sharing these truths and serving others. It's the best! I take responsibilities when they come to me too, like working with the young kids on Sundays --- which, I must say, is just about the most entertaining and rewarding thing you could ever do!
