Hi I'm Barry

I grew up on a small farm. I'm a professor of translation. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a professor, husband and father.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a descendant of Scandinavian and English Mormon pioneers who sacrificed all they had to migrate to the western United States in the 19th century to live their new found faith in peace. The blessings I enjoy today are in large measure due to my forbears' faith in Christ and their courage to do what they knew was right. Culturally, I am a Mormon by birth. Spiritually, I am a Mormon by choice. I choose to follow the teachings of Jesus Christ. I choose to believe that God speaks to his children on earth today. I choose to exercise faith in an increasingly incredulous world. I am a Mormon because the principles I espouse and seek to live on a daily basis give me hope in the face of despair, courage to do what is right, and inspiration to do more than I ever could on my own.

How I live my faith

I serve as a leader and adviser to several congregations in my area. I have the privilege of working closely with members of our Church who speak Spanish.
