Hi I'm Ryan Hyde

I'm an exercise junkie, a disc golfer and I'm Mormon.

About Me

I am currently 23. I have been in many places in my life, both physically and spiritually. I enjoy anything that has to do with exercise and fitness. Nutrition is important to me as well. I enjoy sports of all kind. My favorite sport is is Disc Golf. Many people might not know what it is so I just refer to it as poor mans golf. I have 1 brother and 1 sister, both older. I have lived in many places such as Idaho, California, North Carolina, Ohio and last but certainly not least Afghanistan. I have visited many other places throughout the United States. I have been to Germany and Kyrgyzstan as well. If you can't tell already from some of the places I was in the Marine Corps. I enlisted right out of high school, I was 17 when I left for the Marines. I got out when I was 21 and then focused my time to serve a mission which I am currently doing in Ohio. I enjoy nature and outdoor scenery of all kinds. There is no perfect place for me that I have found yet. I like the mountains and snow of Idaho and Montana to the trees, swamps and rain of North Carolina to the sun and ocean of southern California. I even enjoyed some desert while overseas. I also enjoy drawing and even playing with a yo-yo, yes I said yo-yo, no one is ever to old to enjoy a good yo-yo. Overall I enjoy many things in life. There are too many of them to be a pessimist. Last of all I love the Lord. He is my rock and my Salvation. Only through Him can I do anything.

Why I am a Mormon

There are many reasons that I decided to be a Mormon. First and foremost is that the Gospel of Jesus Christ is true and has been the light of my life. I haven't found any other faith that focuses so much on Jesus Christ and His teachings. Not on only some of His teachings but all of them. God was never a big part of my life, in fact it was the last thing I wanted most of my life. I didn't want anything to do with God or anything of the like, but there was a point in my life where God decided He wanted me on a different path then the one I was currently on. By His mercy and power he let me know that. Through sincere repentance and a genuine change of heart I came to know for the first time in my life that Jesus Christ is truly the Savior of the world. Through the mercy and grace of God I realized that I was loved incomprehensibly by my Heavenly Father and His son Jesus Christ. I chose to associate myself with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints or commonly referred to as Mormons because there is a Prophet on the earth today that God speaks with, just as Moses and Noah and he is found in this church. The Book of Mormon is scripture just as the Bible. It testifies of Jesus Christ and His divinity. I came to know these things for myself, not by man but by God. Through every miraculous occurrence He led me to where I am today, which is in the Church of Jesus Christ or to the Mormons.

How I live my faith

The way I live my faith is everything to me. Faith is not only a profession of belief but action from that belief. I do my very best to be someone Jesus Christ would be proud of. I try to do what He did, say what He said and be who He was. I try my best to speak kind words and put forth kind actions. I'm not perfect but I improve myself each day. I attend church faithfully and read from the scriptures every day. I pray morning, night and countless times throughout the day. I always look for the ways that my Heavenly Father and His Son have been in my life for that day, because they are there everyday. I look for opportunities to serve Them, whether it is putting a smile on someone's face or lifting the spirits of another, it matters not as long as it draws the person closer to God and His Christ. I am currently serving a full-time mission in the Ohio Cleveland Mission preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I know how Jesus Christ has blessed my life and I want everyone to feel that same joy that I have felt from accepting Him. The best thing I could possibly do to or for anyone is to help them come unto Christ and accept Him.
