Hi I'm Ben

I was born in Germany, grew up in Korea and the United States. I am an outdoor-enthusiast and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I love backcountry skiing in the winter and riding on my bike in the summer. I love to explore, climb, hike, camp, and scurry around all the creations of God in all places and in all seasons. I also love to cook good food and create gatherings for friends and family. I love to meet new people and make new friends.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon, because of the fullness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ which is found in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. The Gospel of Jesus Christ is a perfect mélange of principles such as faith in Jesus Christ and His Atonement, repentance, baptism, Gift of the Holy Ghost, enduring to the end, family, and service that allows us to build the Kingdom of God and draw closer to our Saviour. I am grateful for President Thomas S. Monson, our prophet, seer, and revelator that leads and guides us today. The Book of Mormon contains the word of God. There is truth and powerful insights found in it. The Book of Mormon also testifies of the divinity of our Saviour, Jesus Christ. I know this to be true, and this way of life has brought me great happiness, joy, and peace.

How I live my faith

I love to help people in the community, church, and at work. In our congregation we are a tight-knit society. We help each other and look out for each other's back. We are also given visiting assignments where we are expected to visit each other at least once a month. This is great opportunity to create a close-relationship and to serve the members of the congregation. Not only is this a great social opportunity, but a great way to draw closer to our Saviour. As I worship each Sunday, I strive to always remember to keep Jesus Christ the center of my life. Currently, I am missionary in Houston, Texas. I love serving the Lord and the people in Houston each day. Being a missionary everyday has been the most wonderful opportunity.

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

We do not worship Joseph Smith. He is our prophet, and we revere him. We worship God, our Heavenly Father, and our Saviour, Jesus Christ. The prophet is an instrument of God, and leads and guides us today through divine revelation. We do not worship them, but respect and revere them. Show more Show less
