Hi I'm Alycia!

I'm a Mormon!! :D

About Me

I love life!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Growing up, everyone always told me that I needed to read the Book of Mormon and ask God if it was true. Well, I read it...several times...and it just seemed good, so I went with it. Then, I graduated high school and had to pick a college. This was the first time I really needed my Heavely Father's help in making an important decision. I didn't know what to do, and I wasn't really sure about my major. This is when I finally turned to God. I knelt in prayer and told Him my situation. I told Him of how I had read the Book of Mormon and from it I had learned that He could give me guidance. I then asked Him to help me know where I was supposed to live and what I was to do with my life. Now, I can't say that an angel came and told me what to do, becuase as amazing as that would be, it didn't happen. But God DID answer my prayer. Immediately following my plea for guidance, I picked up my Book of Mormon, opened to the page I had previously read, and it was clearly spelled out on the page exactly where I was meant to be at that time. From that moment I put my trust in God and followed His direction. My major, schooling, job, housing, and everything I had prayed over then fell into place. My testimony that God answered my prayer has grown every day since! I know that He has a plan for me. Just as He has a plan for you. Sometimes it takes a huge step of faith and some fervent pleading for help, but you can have that plan revealed to you. This gospel has blessed my life in ways I never imagined possible, and I am grateful for it each and every day!

How I live my faith

I live my faith by studying the words of the Prophets in the Book of Mormon and the Bible every day, by praying to God continually to help me in all I am doing, and by constantly searching for ways to serve others. I also live it by attending church every Sunday, by setting the Sabbath aside as a day to worship God, and by sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ with EVERYONE!! :) I want everyone to experience the joy that I have in my life because of this gospel!! I want everyone to know that God loves us. That our Savior understands EVERYTHING we are going through, and He is waiting to bless us!

What do Mormons believe concerning the doctrine of grace?

We believe that we are saved by grace after all we can do. That is what Christ taught when He was on the earth, and that is what we teach. God has asked us to become perfect. That is nearly impossible for us to do, but if we try our best, and do all we can to serve each other and draw nearer to God, Christ's Atonement and His Grace will make up for our shortcomings! Grace is certainly a gift from our merciful Father in Heaven.  Show more Show less
