Hi I'm Don

I'm a Mormon. As a convert, joining the church has made me a far better person and more spiritually atuned to Jesus Christ.

About Me

Presently, I am a college professor and have been a CFO. I have been heavily involved in soccer as a player, coach, and referee. I love reading mystery novels, attending the theater, and hiking. I am a convert to the church and have served as a Bishop, a High Councilor, an Elders Quorum President, and a High Priest Group Leader. In addition, I have served as a temple ordinance worker. Church service is a huge part of my life.

Why I am a Mormon

When I read the Book of Mormon, I knew by the confirmation of the Holy Ghost that it was true doctrine. It has helped me to grow closer to Jesus Christ. The church doctrine that provides for those who have died without having received all ordinances in life to receive those vicariously is pure doctrine of a merciful and loving Heavenly Father. The church has lay ministry so all are involved in the ministry and this proviodes more spiritual growth for members who fully partake of this opportunity. The opportunity to serve others has provided me numerous spirital experiences that I could get in no other way. Finally, as I study the prophecies, I am convinced that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the restored church of Jesus Christ, established in the last days to begin the gathering of Israel and to prepare the way for His second coming.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by striving to follow all the commandments. I attend sacrament meeting every Sunday in order to take the sacrament and repent for all of my faults. I try to do my calling and all of my assignments with full purpose of heart. I study the scriptures and pray daily. I take my values that I have been taught in church and apply them to the way I interact with people at work and in the community. I try to live the Golden Rule and to help as many people as I can.
