Hi I'm Jacob Holmes

I'm an uncle. I'm a brother. I'm a Mormon. I love the gospel. It has the sweetest feelings of peace.

About Me

I have been interested in technology from a young age. That start gave me a furious curiosity in learning more and more about how things work. That curiosity has to this day allowed me to learn what it takes to be successful in whatever I may try to do. My parents also played such an amazing part in my growth. They have always held high standards to help us have happy fulfilled lives. I am so thankful for their love for us in helping us to learn and grow. Without that loving environment I would not be where I am today. Life has thrown me many curve balls. It hasn't always been the easiest road. After losing everything and having to start a new life all over, I had to learn how to rely on the Savior. He is always there and willing to help, we just have to humble ourselves and go to him. I am serving my mission for the church spreading the gospel in the Phoenix Arizona area. I hope to share my talents in the best way the Lord knows I am capable of. I know the gospel to be true and it makes me anxious to share the extreme happiness that accompanies it.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I choose to be. Many people witness to you of their love for the church and that it is true for themselves. For a long time, growing up in the church, I always wondered how I could know for myself. Would I always rely on the faith of others... I'm a Mormon because I've asked for myself. I have put it to the test. I have exercised a small bit of faith and have seen so many amazing blessings. I know this church is true.

How I live my faith

When the leaders of my church call to ask for service, I like to be the one who says, "Yes, I will go." In that I get great happiness through service. The people I have gone to help, though they don't know it, have helped me in far greater ways than I could ever have helped them. I love to study, especially the Scriptures. The words in the Scriptures are always pertinent to my life as I search for the deeper meaning. It helps give me direction that I can then go and apply into my life and hopefully help others.

How can we increase our faith in Jesus Christ?

Jacob Holmes
Increasing faith is Jesus Christ is really a simple task. Faith is a word of action. Do and then see. It is a hope for things that are not readily seen, but that are true. "I know that I have studied and therefore I hope that I will do good on my test tomorrow." If you hope to do good on your test wont you want to study? It is the same with exercising Faith in Jesus Christ. You can grow in Faith if you hope that he is the savior and exercise that faith by following him and his teachings. It first starts with a sincere desire, then becomes a studied belief, then moves to action upon that belief, and then you have the knowledge of the truth you are searching for. Whala you are on the way to increasing Faith! Show more Show less

How can I know Mormonism is true?

Jacob Holmes
Pray to know if it is true. Not a passive, "it would be nice to know if this is true," but one that is a desire to learn and understand. As soon as you want to know as much as you want a breath of air then you have the desire. Take that desire and put it to the test. Do what Heavenly Father asks you to do. Know that prayer is a two way communication. While you are praying, stop to listen. If you just talk to Heavenly Father then how are you supposed to get the answer you want. Listen with your heart and your mind. He will answer if you have that desire. Show more Show less
