Hi I'm Lisa

I love the mountains, campfires, holding hands with my husband and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in the beautiful Pacific Northwest and graduated from college with a degree in Special Education. I am married to my best friend. We have four biological children and two children who were adopted from Samoa. We have home schooled our children for the past twelve years and our oldest child served as a missionary in Washington, my second child is serving in Brazil and my third is serving in California while he waits for his visa to Brazil. I love to garden, read, play games, travel and go camping but spending time with my family is the BEST!

Why I am a Mormon

Although I was raised in an LDS home, I had to discover what I truly believed on my own. It wasn't always an easy road but I can't imagine where I would be without the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in my life today. I choose to live my life as a Mormon because I know that my Savior, Jesus Christ, has restored the true and living Gospel to the earth through His prophet Joseph Smith. There is simply no doubt in my mind that it is true and so there is no doubt as to what I must do; I must follow Him. I am a Mormon and I am happy!

How I live my faith

Right now I have the opportunity to teach an early morning scripture study class every day before school to the high school students at my church. I also serve in our local Boy Scouts of America Troop. I love being able to spend time with these teenagers and share in their excitement and love of life! I try to be a good example for them to be kind and compassionate, cheerful and non-judgmental. Of course no one is perfect – least of all me! I have a short temper, I am impatient and I like things done my way. But I try I live my faith by striving every day to overcome my imperfections. I live my faith by looking to the Savior as our perfect example and by doing everything I can to become more like Him. I do my best and then turn the rest over the Lord because I know that He will make up the difference when I fall short. I believe that as long as we are on the right path and we never stop trying to become better through humility, through service, through prayer, through scripture study, through seeking to do HIS will at all times, we cannot fail.
