Hi I'm Kelsey

I am a political science student that is getting ready to go to law school. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am studying political science. I work as a teaching assistant and I am currently studying for the LSAT. I want to be a mediator, but I have worked at the police station and for a divorce attorney and think criminal and family law are both interesting as well. I love scuba diving and watching stand up comedy. I also enjoy cooking. I love my family and it is great having my sister at school with me.

Why I am a Mormon

Although, I was raised as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints I still consider it my choice to continue to be a member of Christ's church. When I was little I followed the standards of the gospel blindly. However, as I grew older i was able to see the benefits that choosing to live virtuous life has given me. I am grateful to know that know opportunities have been lost for me because of poor choices. I have watched the pain of friends who have made decisions that seemed harmless but led them to situations and habits that they do not seem able to bring themselves out of. I have watched how my life has been blessed by keeping God's commandments and following the teachings of the scriptures. I know that coincidences with impeccable timing are really just miracles and evidence that my Father in Heaven loves me and is ever mindful of my needs. I have reached out to Him in prayer begging him to lift burdens that I can see know immediate solution to and when I ask He answers sometimes by simply calming my troubled nerves and other times by showing me a light I had never before seen that helps me to move forward and know that all will be well. I am a member of the church because I want to be with my family forever and if I keep true to my covenants then I know I will be able to do that.

How I live my faith

I visit the temple every other week to serve others there. I also am able to have time their to ponder my own covenants. I also attend church weekly and serve as the Monday night group leader of my student branch of church members. I provide a spiritual thought and activity for a group of students so that everyone feels like they have a support group a family away from home if you will. I write my friends that are serving missions in different places throughout the world to support them and the message that they share. However, the main way I live my faith is in the way I live each day. Although, I am not perfect I try to be honest in what I do and say, kind and friendly to those around me, modest in my appearance, pure in my dating life, and studious in my attempt to learn more about the gospel and what I need to become.
