Hi I'm Jack

I grew up in Boise, Idaho. I have a wife five children and 12 grandchildren. I am a retired dentist and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a retired General Dentist who enjoyed my profession and the people I worked with and served. My wife and I have five children and 12 grandchildren. I love the out doors and have done a lot of camping and fishing in my life with my boys as they have grown up. I like serving my community in Boy Scouts my dental society and other opportunities. I served in the USAF for 3 years of active duty during the Vietnam War stationed in Ohio and Arizona and had some great associations while there. I started doing wood work in the last few years and have a great workshop ant my home. I have a small fishing boat and enjoy going out with my friends fishing for kokanee salmon on the local lakes. I also enjoy fly fishing. We also love doing things with our grandchildren who all live in our community now. We attend a lot of soccer, football, baseball, basketball, and various recitals. Great fun!!

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints since I was 9yrs old. I gained a sure testimony of the Church as a young man as I read the Book of Mormon for myself, attended church, prayed sincerely for answers, had wonderful leaders who taught me patiently and learned to know and love the Savior by serving others. The Book of Mormon is a wonderful second witness to the world that Jesus Christ is real and teaches us so much about his wonderful gift of salvation for all mankind. Knowing that is is true confirms to me that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God, that restored Christs church to the earth in our time and that the Lord cares enough about us to call Prophets in our day to guide us through the challenges that are unique to our time just as he did in biblical times. I love the Lord and His work and know that it is true and is the means of salvation for all that now live and have lived on the earth.

How I live my faith

I love serving in my church. I have worked in all phases of the youth organizations of the church and the local Boy Scout district and council. I have always had several families that I visit each month to care for and leave a gospel message. I have learned to cherish my associations with them over the years. I served a missionary in the Florida Mission as a young man for two years. In the last five years my wife and I have had the opportunity to serve in various positions at the Boise Idaho Temple. We love temple work and serving those who come there to learn and worship. We are currently preparing to go on another mission in the Virginia and North Carolina area of the United States. We will be there for 18 months. The Gospel of Jesus Christ has an will always be a priority in our lives.
