Hi I'm Kim

I was raised in Idaho and went to UCLA School of Dentistry. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My life is full. I have three wonderful kids and an amazing wife. I have been a practicing dentist since 1993 and I try to stay involved in the community. I serve on our city's Library Board, I am on the board of our local school district's foundation, and I love the people in my town. My wife says that I am too busy so I try to keep open plenty of time for the family. I love reading novels but when I do they suck me in and I don't get anything accomplished in my life. So, I pick them sparingly and save them for trips. Basically if it's a Clancy, Grisham, or Ludlum novel I have probably read it. I love to collect non-fiction of all types, especially philosophy, politics, and religion. But I can't keep my attention on one subject long enough so I have lots of books with bookmarks in them. There are usually 5 or 6 unfinished books by my bed. I'm just too random to stick to one topic for very long. I only work out 2x per week because I hate it so much. But I have a great trainer who keeps my core strong and makes me do it!

Why I am a Mormon

I know this - the Gospel of Jesus Christ changes lives. Bad lives get good, and good lives get better. I can never deny that. I also know that when I have faith then I have peace. When I let doubt creep into my life then I will experience despair. Living the gospel as taught by the Mormon Church brings me peace. Having the teachings of modern day apostles and prophets gives me guidance that, when followed to the best of my ability, has always brought me peace.

How I live my faith

I try very hard to dedicate my time to helping others who are in need. It is what Jesus taught. After serving as a bishop in my local congregation for 5 years I now give occasional sermons in other congregations and I work as an adviser to other local leaders. My greatest responsibility, of course, is my family.

What do Mormons believe about the Holy Ghost? Who is the Holy Ghost?

Mormons believe that the Holy Ghost is one of three members of the Godhead. He is a Spirit and, as such, he can communicate with our spirits. When I plead with God to help me each day, I try very hard to focus my mind and spirit on what the Holy Ghost tells me. When I live my life that way I am able to feel confident that my daily choices are in harmony with and consecrated by God. Show more Show less
