Hi I'm Rachel

I am a stay at home mother of 2 and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a stay at home mother of 2, a boy who is 2 and a baby girl on the way. I enjoy every minute of my calling as a mother, it is the greatest blessing I have ever experienced in my life. I look forward to each day as I watch my son grow and learn something new. As I watch his eyes look in wonder as he experiences new things in this life, it reminds me of the simple blessings the Lord has given us on this Earth that with age I have forgotten or come to take for granted. I am also a wife to my wonderful husband of 7 years. We have enjoyed the flexibility of self employment throughout my husbands career in leadership development and sales. This career choice has given us the opportunity to spend time as a family and take mini vacations throughout the year, something we both enjoy doing. As a graduate from ASU in Communications, prior to having children I worked in the IT field in sales for a short time and have since then worked with my husband assisting where I can in building up our business. I love days at the pool or lake, visiting with friends and family, and baking treats that bring a smile to everyones face. Although I don't plan to return to work, I plan to use my education to teach my children through home school and everyday learning opportunities.

Why I am a Mormon

Growing up in the LDS Church with both my parents being members, I used to take for granted what I had in my life. It was not until I was a teenager and I became close to the Lord through prayer because of difficulties in my life did I realize how lucky I was to be raised with a knowledge of the true Gospel and the Lord's plan for each of us. I know that I am a daughter of God and this brings me comfort in my life as I know that someone loves me no matter who I am and that I will always be watched over by the Almighty power of the Lord. What could be a greater blessing than having a relationship with our Father above. I feel blessed to have the Gospel in my life today as I raise a family, something I could never do without the guidance of a loving Heavenly Father and a living prophet who is here on this Earth today.

How I live my faith

As a ward member, I have been asked to be a visiting teacher, with a partner to 3 other women in the ward. This has taught me so much because each month as I prepare a short message to bring to these Sisters I am always suprised as they bless my life with their perspective on the lesson, I always learn something from each sister. I also have the opportunity to recieve blessings as I serve each of them when they are in need or when I am in need and my visiting teachers come to serve me. I have also had the opportunity to serve in our Primary, teaching young children on Sunday's a Gospel lesson. I have always enjoyed the Primary lessons as they remind me of the simplicity of the Gospel and it's principles.

What are some things that tell you there is a God?

As I kneel on my knees to pray each night, I am overwhelmed by the Spirit of love I feel from our Savior. I know he hears and answers my prayers. This is a testimony to me that there is a God and that He loves each and every one of us. Show more Show less
