Hi I'm Rachel

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a wife to a wonderful husband. I am a mother of a beautiful daughter. I am a college graduate. I love to blog and take pictures. I love to travel. One fun fact about me--my husband and I collect magnets of all the places we have visited.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because 1. I KNOW that Joseph Smith was a true prophet. 2. I KNOW that the Book of Mormon is true and is the word of God. 3. I KNOW that President Monson is the true and living prophet of our day today. 4. I KNOW that my Savior, Jesus Christ, is our redeemer. He is my brother and my friend. 5. I KNOW that the atonement is real and that Jesus Christ atoned for me and all mankind.

How I live my faith

I live my faith everyday. Not just on Sundays, Easter, or Christmas. I live my faith 365 days of the year by praying, reading scriptures, replacing bad thoughts with good thoughts, participating in wholesome and recreational activities, spending time with my family, being a good Christian and helping my neighbors, etc. I try and make Christ a part of my life everyday.

Who was Joseph Smith?

Joseph Smith was a real person who had a seen a heavenly vision that day in the sacred grove. Every time I read his account of that eventful day I get goosebumps. I have a warm feeling inside of me as if someone took a blanket and wrapped it around me. He did indeed see God the Father and his son Jesus Christ. Joseph could not deny it, and neither will I. Can you tell me about Mormon customs: how you dress for church, what holidays you celebrate, etc.?

We dress for church in our Sunday best to show respect. For women, Sunday best includes a modest dress, or a modest skirt and blouse, and tasteful dress shoes. For men, Sunday best includes a nice suit worn with a white collard shirt, a classy tie, and dress shoes. We celebrate most Christian holidays like most other churches--Easter and Christmas. We reflect on the importance of the birth of Jesus Christ at Christmas time. We also celebrate Easter as it marks the crowning event Christs life-- the atonement and resurrection. We know that without Christ atoning for our sins there is no possible way we can return to our Heavenly Father and live with him again.  Show more Show less
