Hi I'm Adam

I have a french accent I can't get rid of, I'm a Mormon

About Me

I am from Quebec, so yeah I speak french, or Quebecois! I am now 21 years old and I have 6 siblings. 4 brothers and 2 sisters. I really enjoy playing music (piano, I played Alto Sax before but it's been a while, as well as drums). I like sports, such as Hockey, Soccer and Baseball.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Both of my parents joined The Church before I was born. Being from Quebec, there wasn't very many mormons where I lived, and the standard of life taught by the society was very different compared to the one taught by the Church I grew up in. But as a teenager and having tasted a little bit of those standards taught by the society, I can tell you that I know that the commandments of God truly make us happy and are there to help us in our lives to be succesful. In nowise do they restrain us of anything. Living by the standards taught be the society might look like "having fun", but really, it's a fun that can only last so long, then it vanishes away. The Holy Spirit stays with us as long as we are worthy, or strive to do our best to live in harmony with the commandments of God. That makes me really happy and brings peace to my heart.

How I live my faith

At the moment I am serving a mission in British-Columbia. I am here for 2 years to testify to others the joy that comes from living this wonderful gospel of repentance.

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

Adam
No. All worthy 19 year old young men are asked by the living prophet, but it is still up to every one who wants to go on a mission to accept the call or not. It is a personal choice to either follow the teachings of Jesus Christ or not. The principle of missionary work is the same as any other principle, such as the word of wisdom, the law of tithe. The Prophets, as it times of old, tell us what is to be done, but we all have our agency to either follow what God tells us through His prophets or not. The Church will not look down upon any young men who chooses not to serve a mission. The young women's service is for sure welcomed, but women are not as strongly encouraged to served as young men are. Show more Show less
