Hi I'm Andrew Blatter

I grew up in Arizona and Utah. I love sports, doing service, and learning anything i can. I'm a mormon.

About Me

I am 24 years old, and I have been happily married for seven months. I am studying Public Administration at The Ohio State University and I'm planning on getting a Ph.D in Higher Education after I finish my M.P.A. I served a two year mission to South Korea, and I love the Korean culture and people. I would say that I am a people person. I love meeting people, and making friends. I consider myself a genuine person, and I want to have a positive impact in the world around me. Some of my hobbies are playing board games, reading, watching sports or TV with family, trying new things- whether that is traveling, eating new foods, or trying new things.

Why I am a Mormon

Being a member of this church helps me to find happiness on a daily basis. I am learning what truly matters in life and it is amazing to see how much of an impact my beliefs have on my attitude and my actions each day. On a more spiritual level, I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints because I believe the Jesus is the Savior of the world and that following His teachings and example will fill my life with happiness, peace and confidence in this life and in the life to come. I believe that God loves us and still wants to speak to us today, and this church teaches of continuing revelation. And I believe that He has called a living Prophet to guide and teach us today. I have read the Book of Mormon and the Bible, and I believe that they both teach the words of Christ, and in studying them together I am able to better understand Jesus's teachings and grow closer to Him. This witness that I have is one reason that I am a member, but there are other reasons as well. I love how this church emphasizes the family as the central unit of society, and that the church organization should help build strong families. Being a member of this church makes me a better son, a better brother, and a much better husband than I would be without its teachings. Through the loving sacrifice of the Atonement of Jesus Christ I believe that even after we die we can live with our families forever if we will obey His teachings.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith each day by being a loving and supportive husband to my wife, and to be kind to everyone I meet. I believe that sacrifice/service for others is what life is really about, and I love how being a member of this church gives me plenty of opportunities to serve. Each week my wife prepares a lesson to teach the three year olds in our church and I get to help, I help with sharing our message of the restoration of the church of Jesus Christ for those in our neighborhood who are interested in learning, and there are lots of smaller opportunities to serve such as visiting with other members of the church, cleaning the church building, planning service activities for our church, as well as the fun activities. There is always an opportunity to serve in this church, and from this service I am learning about the love and selflessness that Christ showed while on Earth. Plus, this church gives me a place to belong- I have friends that I can count on when I need help,
