Hi I'm Marianne

I'm a wife, a soon to be Mom, a BYU graduate, an editor, a perfectionist, a musician, and a runner.

About Me

Less than a year ago I graduated from BYU with a degree in English Language (pretty different from an English major). English Language focuses on the linguistics behind English--so syntax, pragmatics, semantics, and a bunch of other fancy words for various aspects of effective communication. Needless to say, I love writing and editing. One of my long-term goals is to write children's books. Currently, I am preparing to become the mother of a special little girl who is due in less than a month. I thought the transition from school and work to staying at home and preparing to become a Mother would be really hard, but I love it! I had no idea that cooking, cleaning, organizing, helping my husband however I can, sewing, and exercising day after day could be so rewarding. If I ever feel like I have too much time on my hands, I try to keep myself busy by helping those who don't have quite enough time on their hands. While all of this describes the things I do regularly, I like to define the real me by the things I enjoy and don't enjoy. The biggest pet-peeve of my life is when I burn cookies. Also, I can't stand it when my socks are wet or sticky, and I really, really don't like disappointing people. On the other hand, I love clean kitchen counters, I thrive on to-do lists, my favorite part of the day is meal-time, and the happiest times of my life are when I'm with my family.

Why I am a Mormon

Through the doctrines of the Church or Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints I have learned that I came to this earth under the direction of a loving Heavenly Father who sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to the earth to atone for the sins of all mankind so that we could all return back to our Heavenly Home. By communicating with my Father in Heaven through prayer and by studying the scriptures I have felt strength and power of the atonement of Jesus Christ regularly in life. I have experienced deep emotional pain during my life. Through these times of trial, I have come to realize the the principles of the gospel of Jesus Christ apply so specifically and so perfectly to every and any situation that we will go through. I know without a shadow of a doubt that the principles of the gospel of Jesus Christ are true and that they bring lasting happiness. I love my Savior, Jesus Christ, and am so, so grateful for His infinite and perfect sacrifice that makes it possible for me to repent, change, and become a better person each day.

How I live my faith

My faith affects every aspect of my life. One of the most rewarding ways that I embrace the teachings of Jesus Christ is by serving others. When I think about the sacrifice that Jesus Christ made for each individual on this earth I cannot help but have a desire and willingness to sacrifice my own needs or wants to improve the life of someone else.
