Hi I'm Gary

I grew up on a farm in Idaho, in the United States of America and find great peace in the messages of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

About Me

I am a husband, father and grandfather. My family brings me great joy in this life. I enjoy playing golf on occasion. I also enjoy working with wood to produce useful or decorative peices. I have been employed by the Boy Scouts of America for the last 38+ years. I believe in a bright future of our country based on the strength I see in youth today.

Why I am a Mormon

The principles learned and opportunities to develop faith have presented challenges in my life as with anyone. I am grateful for the patience that God has for me. I was raised in the church and have made the testimony of the truth part of my personal journey. I am not perfect and my journey is not complete but I have great hope founded in the blessings poured out upon me and in the Atonement of the Savior Jesus Christ which things have changed the path of my life and help keep me on the upward trail.

How I live my faith

I serve in the Church in an advisory capacity to local congregation leadership. In addition, I work with several families to teach and help meet their needs. I also do some directing or choirs for special events and work a little with public affairs.

Why are only some Mormons allowed into temples? Is there something secret going on in Mormon Temples? What goes on in Mormon Temples?

Gary
The temples of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints are a central part of my worship life. I have made sacred covenants there with my Heavenly Father and every time I return I am reminded of those promises and refreshed by the Spirit that I feel there. It is the sacred nature of those personal covenants that limit temple participation to those baptized members of the Church who are prepared and spritually qualified for that sacred experience. My sweet wife and I have been joined in a perpetual partnership for nearly 40 years now. That covenant of eternal marriage was secured in one of the temples. I enjoy searching out ancestors and becoming a stand-in for them in engaging those same covenants in their behalf. Temple participation is a great blessing in my life. Show more Show less
