Hi I'm Krissy

I'm a California girl. I have six children. I love the beach. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a wife and mother to six kids. Because of my kids, I have become a chauffeur, fashion consultant, cheerleader, cook, phycologist, hairdresser and more. Even though my life is incredibly busy right now, I love my life and spending time with my family.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the church. From a young age, I had faith in Jesus Christ and a believing spirit. At birth I was given a 50/50 chance of survival. My family and members of our church fasted and prayed for me. As I grew, my mother would often remind me of how their collective faith helped to save my life. She also told me that she promised to raise me in righteousness if I would be allowed to live. I think partly because of this, I don't ever remember not knowing in my heart that Jesus was the Christ and that His church was restored by the prophet Joseph Smith. It always felt right. When I was in fourth grade I developed a stutter. I remember feeling bad that my parents were worried and I hated reading aloud in school or church. I felt like I had ideas and opinions that would never be shared. It was very frustrating and life altering. I had some success with speech therapy, but I still struggled especially when I was fatigued or stressed. I knew I needed the Lords help. Sometime in high school I began to read the scriptures aloud. I found this practice helped to loosen my tongue and it also helped feed my spirit. I learned to always pray and ask my Heavenly Father for help before I would give a speech. It was the most amazing thing! The Lord always helped me when I asked and if I forgot to humble myself and ask for help, I would stutter. Now that I am older, I am really grateful for my weakness. It has helped me to rely on the Lord and to develop a relationship with Him that I would not have otherwise. He is always there for me. He has never left me alone. I still marvel at how much He helps me when I just ask. I know my Savior lives and loves me and for this I am forever grateful.

How I live my faith

I love being a member of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints! Observing the sabbath day has really been a blessing in my life. It is really a bonding experience to attend my church meetings each Sunday with my friends and neighbors. There is something about leaving my daily concerns and projects and going to church and letting the Spirit work on my heart that renews me. It is exactly what I need to refocus on what is most important in my life. I teach the 10 year olds at church and have loved studying the New Testament with them this year. The children I teach are so eager to learn and have such believing in their eyes that I am humbled to be their teacher. I have learned so much about my Savior Jesus Christ through teaching about his life, parables, and principles. The most important thing I have learned through teaching this year, is that the gospel of Jesus Christ is the gospel of peace. It is through Jesus Christ that we can be forgiven of our sins and can return to live with Him and our families after we die.
