Hi I'm Emily

I grew up in Bountiful not affiliated with any religion converted 4 years ago. I love to decorate cakes. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I attended Utah State for 4 years and was going into Elementary Education when i decided it was not for me and chose to get my associates and quit school for a while.I love to decorate cakes and bake. I hope to one day open my own bakery. I have two older brothers one of which is a Mormon and the other is not but we all love each other and get along. We have some recreational property that we go to and ride four-wheelers and hike and what not. My family is also U of U fans (i am an Aggie fan but Ute fan at heart). I have a very interesting family but we get along so well its crazy! haha I have a few uncles and Aunts who also are not Mormon including my parents. But then there are those who are Mormon. I love to travel!! Have been to Europe twice and have been all over the U.S. I am just loving life and seeing where it takes me!

Why I am a Mormon

As I have mentioned I am a convert. It has been the best decision I have made thus far. About 7 years ago my brother just older than me decided to join the church. He was baptized and a year later he left on a mission for 2 years. When he left I was 17 years old or a senior in High School. About 6 months after he left I was relaxing at home when the doorbell rings. I answer and low and behold its the Missionaries. At first I was kind of like uh oh.. who told them to come! ha but then I decided to let them in and took some of the lessons from them and had scripture study once. But one of the missionaries was very pushy and wanted me to get baptized like 2 weeks after I had met them. I told them no. It was a stressful time anyways. I was getting ready to move to Logan for college and my oldest brother was getting married it just wasn't right. Then a year later. I was moving into my new Apt it was my second year of college. When my roommate/best friend Brynne came to me and kind of sighed but said "Emily I am really sorry but the missionaries are outside and my dad started talking to them and they want to meet you". I decided to go out and meet them. When I did something just felt right and they set up and appointment and taught me the lessons. This time things were different and it just felt right and I KNEW this was the true church. I waited till my brother returned home from his mission that Dec. so that he could baptize me and the missionaries came every week to teach me more. My brother returned home around the beginning of Dec. and Dec 26 I was baptized. It was the most AMAZING experience ever and I am so thankful for everyone who was an example to me. I know that this is the true church and the Joseph Smith was a true prophet of God. Without him I wouldn't be where I am today. I am grateful for the Spirit that helps me feel Gods love and helps guide me through trying times. I say this in the name of Jesus Christ Amen.

How I live my faith

I have met some amazing people while being apart of this church. Through visiting teaching I gained a roommate and so many life long friends. It is amazing the things that happen in the church. I love teaching this gospel. Even though I have been a member for a short time teaching gives me an opportunity not only to study the materials but to bring the joy I feel to others. The calling I have right now is a really simple calling but I know it helps me become closer to my Heavenly Father and helps others do the same. I am currently the ward and stake texter.... yes thats right i am a texter for the church. Might seem silly to some but I take it seriously and absolutely love it!!
