Hi I'm Holley

I am a runner and fitness fanatic. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am health nut and just completed my 4th marathon. I can't wait to do more! I hope to become a fitness instructor and help inspire other people to be healthy and live an active lifestyle. I am also a hairdresser and my husband just joined the Navy as a Civil Engineer.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because nothing brings me as much peace as knowing that I can continue on and be with my family after this life. The gospel brings hope into each day when I am surrounded by doubt and fear. I am able to live my life without feeling bogged down or overcome by hardships in the world. The gospel is my hope and what pushes me to become better everyday. I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was restored to the earth by the Prophet Joseph Smith. I know that today's prophet, President Thomas S. Monson is a man of God who received revelation for us today. I can feel the power of his words when he speaks and the Holy Ghost bears witness to me that it is true.

How I live my faith

Having a family in the community through my church attendance is a huge part of my life. It is a huge source of support as well as friendship. When I attend church I am bolstered up by other members faith and stories of overcoming adversity and have examples surrounding me from every age group.  It is also where I have made most of my very closest friends. Sometimes people move and their lives lead them to new paths but the bonds of the gospel always keep us connected. I am grateful for a community of friends with whom I have so much in common.

Why do Mormons perform baptisms for the dead?

Holley
We perform baptisms for the dead so that everyone will have the opportunity to either accept this gospel or reject it. It is their choice. Just because we baptism them doesn't mean they will accept it. We believe what we are sharing is good news! We want to share it will all who are on the earth today as well as those who are no longer here.  Show more Show less
