Hi I'm Maggie

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a new member to the church. I am a wife and new mom. I enjoy spending time with my husband and son. I enjoy watching movies, reading, learning new things, baking and bargain hunting. I love my life!

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in a Nazarene family and was pretty content that way until I went to a Nazarene university. Suddenly I longed for more and searched for answers to help me grow spiritually. I began meeting with missionaries and instantly felt a sense of peace and calm and knew it to be true. However, the feeling quickly dulled when my family attacked everything I was learning and believing. Long story short, I wasn't ready. A couple years later I married and my husband had grown up LDS and had even helped me with my studying the first time around. About a month after our son was born I couldn't shake this burden that I was keeping my husband away from his true beliefs. After several nights asking him questions and praying I submitted a request for a visit from the missionaries. I also asked my sister-in-law if I could go to church with her since she is LDS. I prayed for a sign that I was making a step in the right direction. The next day was an incredible sign for me. One of the speakers talked about the Nazarene University I had attended! I had searched this site the night before looking for a Nazarene convert and was unable to find one. It was a sense of shock and fear for I have never experienced such an obvious answer to prayer. Once again, almost instantly, a sense of peace washed over me. On February 19 I was baptized and confirmed a member of the church. Although I still face the opinions of my extended family and parents I know I am doing what Heavenly Father planned for me. It is such a blessing to be a part of this church.

How I live my faith

As of right now I do not actually do any service in the church. I do attend sacrament meeting, Sunday school, and Relief Society (like Sunday school just all women). I read the scriptures and pray to Heavenly Father whenever I need inspiration, guidance, or just to learn and be closer to him.
