Hi I'm Chenelle

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently serving in the Illinois Chicago mission - Spanish speaking. I love the people and sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ with those I come in contact with. I am 21 yrs old. I happen to be the oldest of 10 kids. My parents are divorced and each remarried. I have lived in many different cities and states throught my life so far. I am an LPN (licenced practical nurse) in the U.S. Army Reserves. I have been in the Reserves for 3 years and so far love it. I love to sing and dance. I have been dancing my whole life and hope to continue through out the rest of my life. I love to be outdoors hicking, camping, fishing, hunting, you name it! I completed the Tuff Mudder marathon an plan to do it again soon! I ran the Schaumburg Turkey trot Half Marathon and had a blast. I love life and have loads of fun living it.

Why I am a Mormon

All my life I have grown up in this gospel and, I love it. When ever I am sad, mad or anything other then how I want to feel, I know I can just get on my knees or say a prayer in my head and everything will be ok. I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints not only because my family is and that is how I grew up but, Because I have come to learn and gain a testimony of this gospel and of Christ. I love that we have the fullness of the gospel with the Bible and the Book of Mormon. We have these that give an account of the teachings of Christ and his people. I love that I have the power of God on Earth available to me and have used it many times. I love the feeling I recieve when I talk about Christ or enter into a building of the church, wether it be a Church or a Temple. It is unlike anything you could ever imagine. I am so thankful for the Temples, the work that is done in them is so special and has had a great influence in my life. I will be able to be joined with my family forever in Heaven. I will be able to be joined with my spouse and children for time and all enternity. It is such a wonderful thing to know that after my time on Earth is complete that I will be able to continue on with the ones that I love. I am so glad that we have a Prophet on the Earth today who recieves revelation from God and is able to direct our Church to Gods will. I am also thankful for the Holy Ghost who is here to help and comfort me everyday. I am glad I have the ability for personal revelation and am able to get help for things that have to do with me specificaly. I turn to the Lord for even the smallest things knowing that he can help me make the right decisions. I am thankful for my right to agancy and the ability to choose my own way that it gives me. I am so thankful for the many wonderful things in the Gospel and that this Church does not only for me but for the world. I wouldn't be where I am or the person that I am today without it.

How I live my faith

I live my faith every day. I follow the values taught to me in my youth. I wear modest clothing, don't drink or smoke. I am a fun loving person and have found that I don't need those things to have a good time. I attend church regularly and go to all the activities. As a missionary I have the privalege of teaching others about what we believe and know to be true. I love how no matter what you are going through Jesus Christ is there to help us. I have my weakness as does everyone and everyday I try to over come them and follow the teaching of Jesus Christ.

How can I know Mormonism is true?

Chenelle
Do it. You need to read the scriptures and pray. Pray for guidance, pray for knowlege and understanding. You need to push aside all the everything the world has told you this Gospel is about, and find out for yourself. When learning to walk, a baby can be lead, but the parents cant walk for them. The same goes here. You have mamny referances and people to help lead you as you study and learn, but ultimatly it is up to you to take the first step and to become stronger with every step.
