Hi I'm Cory Williams

Hello, my name is Cory Williams. I grew up in Central California. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hi, my name is Cory. I'm a 31 year old has been high school athlete who had to grow up, but never stopped playing. My wife and I met playing volleyball and we find ourselves 10 years and 5 children later still doing so. We have also spent much time training for and running marathons and Ragnar Relays together as well as racing in triathlons. I'm always up for a new challenge. But my true joy in life comes from my family. My 2 daughters and 3 sons can melt my heart with just a glance. I work each day thinking about the privilege it is to come home to them.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in a loving Mormon Family that lived the gospel to the T. I recognized early on how our happiness was interconnected with our commitment to living the gospel. Though I was surrounded with good at home, I also attended high school in a very small agricultural town in California where there were very few other mormons. I had to gain my own testimony in order to sustain me through that time. Scripture study and prayer strengthened me and lead me to know without a doubt that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints was true. I chose to serve a 2 year mission for my church and was called to the Venezuela, Caracas Mission. I know that Jesus Christ lives and directs His church today.

How I live my faith

I am currently serving as the Young Mens President in my ward. This group includes all male youth between the ages of 12 and 18. We participate in the Boy Scouts of America program where I sere as a Venture Scout Leader. I take the boys on high adventure activities such as scuba diving at Catalina island, or we may play a lively game of dodge ball. However, on Sundays we discuss the gospel together. My main goal is to help each of them be prepared to serve a mission when they turn 19 because I know the influence my mission has had throughout my life. I am also a Home Teacher and enjoy visiting with and serving 3 families in our ward.
