Hi I'm Rex

I grew up in Idaho. I've been an Information Systems professional for almost 20 years and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I enjoy outdoor activities like hiking, camping, skiing, biking, and running. My time spent with family is the most valuable and important time to me. My wife and I enjoy taking road trips with our 2 boys and 2 girls to admire the beauty the Lord has blessed us with. I enjoy working along side my children in the yard. I raise young men and women. The vegetables and fruit are just added blessings.

Why I am a Mormon

Being a member of the church brings joy and peace in my life. I am grateful that my wife and I have been sealed in the temple and that our family that we have here on earth can continue for the eternities. It is reassuring to have the knowledge that I have a Father in Heaven who loves me. He has always been available to lead and guide me in my life as I turn to him in prayer. I am grateful that we have prophets and apostles on earth today to give us the guidance and direction the Lord would have us hear. As I have applied their teaching in my life, I have been blessed with joy and peace. I am an imperfect father trying to raise honorable men and women to face an ever increasingly evil and difficult world. I could only do this with the guidance and help from the Lord. Being a member of the church increases my confidence that the Savior, Jesus Christ's grace will make up for my mistakes. The Savior has also strengthened me to be equal to the task. As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, I have an opportunity to serve other. It is a wonderful blessing in my life to work in the church, teach the gospel and help others. For example, I had an opportunity to serve a mission in Brazil. What a wonderful experience to visit with the beautiful Brazilian people and share the gospel with them. I love the people of Brazil. I am thrilled to see the church grow so much there, since the time I was there many years ago. The main reason I am a Mormon is that I know this is the Kingdom of God on Earth. I know that this is my Savior's church. I am eternally grateful for his atoning sacrifice that allows me to return to live with my Heavenly Father and my eternal family.

How I live my faith

Right now I work with the young men in our church. We help the young men organize wholesome activities where they can learn, grow and have fun. The activities range from making jewelery for their moms for Mother's Day, to visiting with an Army pilot about his career, to backpacking in the mountains of the state we live in. After spending time with these young men on fun activities, we have the opportunity to meet and worship together on Sundays. We take turns teaching lessons and sharing the gospel with each other.
