Hi I'm Karl

I grew up on a family farm in Eastern Utah. I am the forth child in a family of 5. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the father of 4 children and grandfather to 6 of the sweetest children in the world. My wife Ann and I have been married for over 40 years. I work as a mechanical engineer and test equipment used by the men and women in our armed forces. My hobbies include woodworking, gardening, tinkering, metal casting, camping and reading.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I was previleged to grow-up in a home where faith and devotion to God were at the top of the list of priorties. I started gaining a testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ starting at a very young age, although I only came to realize the full extent of that process when I was 19 years old and I was serving a mission for the LDS Church in Uruguay.

How I live my faith

I am the leader of our local congregation or "Ward". I have many opportunities to share my testimony of the Lord Jesus Christ and his restored Gospel.  I counsel with many individuals who are struggling with the trials of this mortal life such as loss of loved ones, financial hardships, transgressions and guilt and loss of faith.

What is done with the tithing that Mormons pay?

Tithing funds are used to further God's work here on the Earth. Some are used to purchase property and build chapels, temples and education facilities. Some are used to maintain and repair the Church buildings and to fund the activities that are carried out at the local level to benefit the members of the church. However, the greatest work that is done is the work that God does for those who pay 10 percent of their income to the Lord. Many sincere tithing payers have testified to me that the Lord has in reality "opened the windows of Heaven" as promised by the Prophet Malachi in the Old Testament see Malachi Chapter 3, verses10-11.
