Hi I'm Jesica

I am sarcastic. I laugh loud. I love adventure and travel. Proud to be a Latter-Day Saint.

About Me

I love music. I would be lost without music. I love the outdoors. I love to work out. My favorite things to do are travel, learn languages and people watch. I tried to study and live abroad as much as I could in college. I have had a lot of jobs and cannot decide what "to do" with my life. I want to do as much as I can! I love the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints!

Why I am a Mormon

We are fragile, beautiful creatures as human beings. We wander around the world trying to find our place, trying to belong. We embrace things that make us feel safe. I was raised in the church. It always provided a safety net. It grounded me. I didn't know what it felt like to lose my footing until I left the church for a few years to explore, to try to answer and understand life's questions on my own. I understand what it means to wander, without a compass, to seek refuge in people and places that were not fulfilling. I was unhappy. I have felt my Heavenly Father's love and protection in my life since a child. Those years outside the church taught me that the most important thing to do, if I want to be happy, is to not be afraid to live my beliefs, to reach my full potential. Each of us can pray to a Heavenly Father who hears and answers our prayers. I was completely lost in the world without this. I have read the book of Mormon and know that Joseph Smith saw God the Father and Jesus Christ face-to-face. I have prayed and had confirmation multiple times that this is the Lord's church restored on the earth today, that it is true, and that it is here that we can all understand where we come from, where we're going and what the purpose of our lives are. I am a Latter-Day Saint because the gospel is true! Following my Savior Jesus Christ's example is my highest and most beautiful opportunity and calling.

How I live my faith

I believe faith is deeper than belief. For me, faith is active. It is choosing to love, understand and seek after truth. It transcends social norms, it pushes the limits of our potential as human beings and opens up the possibility to know who we are are, where we come from and where we are going. I live my faith socially - by living an honest and chaste lifestyle. I look for the beauty in everything. I keep an open-mind about other people's beliefs/lifestyles and love everyone for who they are, right now, wherever they are at in their lives. I seek opportunities to serve, learn and listen. I try to see every person I meet as a spirit son or daughter of God, with divine and unique gifts and talents, each individually loved of God and vitally important to the big picture/plan of life, each with their own struggle to overcome, imperfect, with a beautiful opportunity to become greater and work toward perfection. I attempt, with every act to be the type of person that brings out the best in others, and leaves them better than I found them.
