Hi I'm Marilyn Grover Poulsen

I am a daughter of God. He loves me and I love him. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I LOVE my life!!! Wow, I can't believe I can say that but I truly mean it! My life has been a challenging road with many dark and lonely days but when the light of my Savior, Jesus Christ shines on me, those dark days are nothing more than a memory! I am a daughter to 2 very wonderful parents who taught me the gospel of Jesus Christ through their actions, their words, their examples and their love. I am a wife to a wonderful man who does SO much for our family and I love him with all my heart! I am a mother to 3 AMAZING children who teach ME through their examples every single day! In my free time when I'm not being a cook, chauffer, maid, nurse, teacher.....I enjoy scrapbooking, learning, reading, cleaning I know, it's crazy, organizing, spending time with my family and friends and helping people wherever I can. I just love people! After High School I went to college for a year and a half at Ricks. I then moved onto my true joy.....cosmetology school. Like I said, I am a people person and I enjoy talking with people one on one so this career path was perfect for me. I have been a stay at home mom for the past 16 years and I am now preparing to go back to "work" helping make other people feel beautiful.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a family that were already members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and I am SO eternally grateful that I was! I have been taught all my life about the church and although I've always believed the church was true, it has taken my own trials and experiences to KNOW that everything this church teaches is TRUE!!!! Not any one of us going through this earthly experience is perfect and so none of us are free from sorrow, suffering or tragedy, whether by our own actions or not. The decision we DO have is....how will we react to those situations when they come? Will we become angry and bitter and turn away from our Savior or will we run to Him with open arms asking Him to help us heal? I've been on both sides of that question and I am promising you....He, our Savior Jesus Christ is just waiting for us to come running! He is ALWAYS there for us under ANY circumstance if we will ask Him to help us! There is no question too big or too small that he won't help us answer. No trial he won't help us overcome. No joy in our life that he doesn't want to celebrate with us. He is knocking on the door of our hearts...just let Him in! It has taken me 40 long years to realize this and sadly it has taken a very life altering challenge in my life to Wake Me Up! I can honestly say that I am now, grateful for this whole, hard, painful challenge because it has "motivated" me to find out the love my Savior has for me...personally! He knows ME! He loves ME! He cares if I am happy or sad, feeling scared or alone, celebrating an accomplishment, shedding tears of joy or sorrow and He cares those things for YOU too!

How I live my faith

I believe that my actions speak louder than my words so I try to always act in a way that would be pleasing to the Lord. In the way I dress, the way I speak, the way I act toward others. I want to live a life of service because when I help others I feel like I am helping the Lord in some small way. I want people to feel comfortable around me so I try to make them feel as welcome as possible. I love spending time with my neighbors and learning how, together we can help each other with our challenges. There is definitely strength in numbers and with other friends, family, neighbors and the Spirit of the Lord working together, we can overcome anything!
