Hi I'm Jefferson Romney

I'm an aspiring engineer and am serving a misison in the Philippines . I enjoy skiing, cycling, working on robotics. I am a Mormon

About Me

I have finished my first year in engineering school and have put my education on hold to serve a mission in the Philippines so that I can share the gospel with others. I have four brothers and four sisters ranging from 5 to 21. I love hiking and bicycling. I work on robots, learn about computers, and watch old TV shows in my free time. I am also a musician. I play piano, trumpet, french horn, ukulele, guitar, and sing. I look forward to a family and finishing school after I serve a mission.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that Christ lives. That is and has been the most important thing in my life and I love sharing that with others. I love the restored gospel and I know that it can and does change lives. It is the greatest gift I have.

How I live my faith

I live my faith every day by keeping myself clean. I love sharing the gospel with others by example and by serving others. I love keeping Christ in my life every day with hymns and scripture study and prayer. At church I find ways to help others by playing the piano and by making sure everybody is able to feel of God's love. As a misisonary, I serve 24 hours a day helping others also to come closer to Jesus Christ.

Why don’t Mormons drink coffee, tea, or alcohol? What is the Mormon Church’s law of health and proper diet?

Jefferson Romney
Our bodies, as temples, or special homes for our spirits, should be kept clean. To help us do this, Heavenly Father has given us a commandment called the word of wisdom. It is called the Word of Wisdom because it is a commandment that tells us about ourselves. It tells us that things such as alcohol, coffee, tea, tobacco, and illegal drugs are not good for our bodies. They are damaging. Some are also damaging to the mind and spirit. Alcohol, for example, removes our most precious gift, that of agency. It renders us unable to make rational decisions and lets Satan invade our minds and spirits. Show more Show less
