Hi I'm Devin

I grew up in Las Vegas. I'm studying to be a doctor. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the proud father of three sweet children and the fortunate husband of my beautiful wife. We love to spend family time together doing all sorts of things, but we especially enjoy taking cross-country road trips. In my spare time, I enjoy sports of all kinds, especially volleyball, basketball, soccer, softball, and frisbee. I'm currently a joint MD/MBA student with professional ambitions to make a difference in the U.S. health care sector after completing my degree.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I grew up in a home with parents that loved and supported me and taught me life's most important lessons. I learned at home about the gospel of Jesus Christ and I developed my testimony step by step, here a little and there a little. I had numerous experiences with prayer that taught me that God and his son Jesus Christ loved and cared for me. As I read in the scriptures and tried to apply what they said to my life, I learned that obedience to God and his commandments brought happiness. At age 19, I served a mission for the church in Mexico. There, my testimony of the church grew as I saw the changes that came into people's lives as they learned about Jesus Christ and made changes in their behavior to follow him. Now, I have the blessing of teaching the gospel of Jesus Christ in my own home, to my own children. When we live the teaching of our Savior, we experience joy and peace in our home and we know that we are preparing ourselves to one day become an eternal family.

How I live my faith

First and foremost, I live my faith in my home by trying to be an example to my family of a true disciple of Jesus Christ. In my role as a father and husband, I try to ask myself: "What would Jesus have me do?" At school, I live my faith by serving others, using clean language, and staying positive in my interactions with my classmates. My faith confirms to me that my life has meaning and purpose, and this knowledge brings me great happiness that I try to share with all around me.
