Hi I'm Jesse

I'm a writer, a musician, a power-lifter, a prospective missionary, a student. Most importantly, I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the youngest in my family, with two older brothers who love me and love to tease me. I've attended two years at BYU Provo studying Nutritional Science. I have a wide range of interests including anything athletic--volleyball, power-lifting, hiking, and biking. I love to make things with my hands, either through sculpture or sewing. I play the violin for school orchestras, musicals, or at church. In my free time, I love to create worlds of my own through writing. Currently I am surving a mission in Mesa, Arizona speaking Spanish.

Why I am a Mormon

Although I have been a Mormon my whole life, that does not mean that my testimony has come easy to me. I have spent many nights on my knees in prayer and many hours reading scriptures. I have discovered, through small and simple means, that God knows and loves me. These small, sweet moments--usually in the form of blessings or personal revelation--have created the blazing fire that my testimony is now. I also know that through this gospel, families can literally be together even after we die. My family is not perfect, but I love them more than anything else, and I want to be with them forever. I know this church is true. Christ is my redeemer. Of course, like a campfire, I am constantly adding fuel to my testimony, which is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

During the school year, I go to church every week with my family or my roommates. I have been the president over two youth groups, and I've taught in Relief Society and Nursery. This past school year I was one of the ward's Temple Coordinators, so I helped plan ward temple trips and encouraged others to focus on the temple. Currently I am serving a mission in Mesa, Arizona, Spanish-speaking, where I have the opportunity to share this gospel with everyone I meet. Each day, I continually strive to be like Christ. He is the ultimate example of love and service, and thus I try to love and serve everyone I meet. While I am not perfect, I have realized that this life is precious and a great opportunity for me to become better.
