Hi I'm Mark

I am a computer programmer/analyst and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I like almost all sports, but baseball is my favorite. I am married with eight children and enjoy them immensely. I am also an avid Disney fan and enjoy going to Disneyland as often as possible.

Why I am a Mormon

Why am I a Mormon? Because it fits, let me explain. By nature I am a very logical person and have a need to have things fit together. Growing up I always knew God existed and from time to time my parents would take me to different churches, but none ever stuck. While in college I started actively searching for the right church and would go to my friends churches with them, but there was always something missing and I would just stop going. I had an image of what I thought the Mormon church was and with that never entertained an interest in going to that church. However, I had a coworker that I became friends with and we started talking about religion and what she was telling me she believed as a Mormon was not what I thought Mormons believed. I started asking questions and eventually allowed the missionaries to visit me. When I found out what the Mormon’s really do believe it fit perfectly and made sense logically. As I read the Book of Mormon it to made sense to me. I had a desire to learn more and felt that this church had the complete package. But, the most important reason I am a Mormon is that after feeling and experiencing all of this I knelt down and asked my Heavenly Father if it was true and received a response that it is. Armed with this knowledge there was no other choice, if I was to follow God, than to become a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to live by the commandments of God each day. I try to treat others the way I know the Savior would. I try to help others like the example shown us by the Savior. I have done many things within the church from teaching the youth to leadership positions and have found that my service to others no matter what capacity it is in brings me joy and happiness. I also serve in the community and help my neighbors out whenever and however I can.
