Hi I'm Jared

I'm a family man. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a husband to a beautiful girl I met in high school, married just over 5 years now, with a wonderful 2-year-old son who makes me laugh every day. I went to a technical school for auto mechanics, and work for a BMW dealership in the San Francisco Bay area. I served as a missionary in the Philippines, and love getting out of the house with my family whenever I can.

Why I am a Mormon

I was blessed to have two faithful members of the Mormon church for parents, and I grew up attending church on Sunday and other activities throughout the week. That's how I was introduced to the church, but the reason that I stayed, the reason it means so much to me and the reason that I am trying to raise my family the way my parents did is the peace, joy and guidance that the gospel brings into every aspect of my life. I don't remember a time when I ever had serious doubts about what I believe, but there was a time when I was preparing to share the gospel with others as a missionary that I thought a lot about why I feel so strongly. The answer to that is simple but powerful. God loves us so much that he not only provided a plan for all of us to return and live with Him and our families, but He also gave us a way to know what the truth is so that we can follow it. We can feel His answers and His love in our hearts, and I've felt it countless times in my own life.

How I live my faith

I do my best to always have a smile on my face, and to be a friend to anyone who needs one. My wife and I say prayers and read the scriptures every day, both as a couple and as a family. Reading scriptures with a 2-year-old is more like looking a pictures of scripture stories and talking about them, but he expects it every night before bed. We do everything we can to have a home full of love. For over a year, I had the opportunity to teach a sunday school class for high school age kids. I loved it. I was able to help build the belief and character of young men and women in what can be a difficult and challenging world. I was recently asked to work with a younger group of kids, cub scouts. I was an eagle scout, and love the enthusiasm of young people.
