Hi I'm Norm

I am but one grain of sand on the sea shore, but I am unique and known personally by a loving Father in Heaven.

About Me

I am 64 years old. I am happily married to a wonderful person. We have been married for over 36 years. Together we have raised seven children, four boys and three girls. We currently have 11 grandchildren. I am currently retired. I have a BBA in Accounting. I served four years in the US Navy, Currently I serve as a High Priest Group Leader for my ward. I love serving in this capacity. I love seeing that special spark in people's eyes when they learn that they are children of God and that they are dearly loved by a loving Father in Heaven. I would love to serve a mission with my wife when she retires..

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints for many reasons. I have always sought truth. I have found the truth to many questions regarding religion within the Mormon Church. The questions where I came from, why am I here, and where am I going are all answered within the doctrines of the church. I am happy and free of fear within the church as long as I keep the commandments and exercise faith in the Saviour Jesus Christ. I know that a prophet lives on earth today with all the powers and priesthood that was with Moses and other Old Testament prophets. The Church teaches the eternal nature of marriage and the family. The Church also teaches that each individual is important and loved by God and has the opportunity to return back to the presence of God. I have felt God's love. I have received a witness from the Holy Ghost that the feelings that I have are from Him and that they are true.

How I live my faith

As most of Father in Heaven's children, I have had to make many changes in my life in my effort to become more Christ like. I have found that this change is much easier when I forget about myself and bury myself in the service of others. I have held many various positions of service within the church. I have found that regular scripture study, personal and family prayer, and regular church attendance helps me to be spiritually tuned. I have one motto in life, "Keep my wife happy." I have been blessed with a testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I love Him with all my heart. He is my Savior, He is my friend, He is my exampler. I know that He loves me. Though the Gosple of Jesus Christ I can be with my wife and children though out all eternity. This one simple promise, that has been given to me, is what motivates me to keep on trying to do better.

How can I know Mormonism is true?

Norm
First is desire. The desire to know what is true. Second is a willingness to change. Often accepting truth in our lives requires us to change long held traditions, personal habits that are contrary to God's pattern of happines and putting total faith in what the spirit, the Holy Ghost, is prompting us to do. Knowing truth comes though the Holy Ghost. Once we have the desire and the commitment to change in order to know truth we then must go to our Father in Heaven in prayer. Prayer is a fundimental step in showing God that we have faith in Him. It is through prayer that we sincerely ask our Father in Heaven for knowledge. If we pray with real intent He will answer that prayer through the Holy Ghost. Through the Holy Ghost we can know the truth of all things. I can promise you that if you pray with a sincere heart and with real intent that you will feel a prompting within your heart and mind. It is up to you to take action on those promptings. This taking action is showing God that we have faith in Him. Through this process you will come to know the reality of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. It is how I came to know that Mormonism The Gospel of Jesus Christ it is true. Show more Show less
