Hi I'm Nate

Loving life and livin it to the fullest! Come from Idaho, love my family, love soccer, down for a good time, and I'm a MORMON!

About Me

Right now I am 20 years old and have spent the last year and a half of my life serving a mission for our church and living in the wonderful country of JAPAN! Before I left on my mission I attended school at BYU Idaho and really enjoyed my short, but wonderful one semester there! When my mission is finished I would like to attend BYU Provo and study in the Athletic Training Program that they have. I come from a family of six people, and I am the oldest of four siblings! Two sisters and a brother! I have a lot of different hobbies but there are a couple that I think I enjoy more than the others. First off I would probably have to say soccer, been doing it since I was a little kid and there is nothing more fun to me than going outside to kick a soccer ball around! Then other one is music... Kind of broad but I would say that singing and listening to it are my favorite. Right now on my mission I am practicing the Ukelele and it is coming slowly but surely! Haha it is a really fun instrument and I enjoy spending time messin around on it.

Why I am a Mormon

I love this Gospel and the joy that it brings to my life! There is nothing else in my life that can strengthen bonds with family and friends quite like this church. It's a lifestyle that I love to live and I feel so blessed to have made this choice! A lot of the time, especially when I explain to people the beliefs that our church has, I get a response like, "Those rules are so strict! You don't get to have any fun!" I really have come to know through experience that our Heavenly Father loves us and that because He loves us He has given us these commandments to protect us. This church has offered me so much happiness, and so much protection from the harmful things in this world. It has protected my family and helped us to grow closer together, and I really believe that in the future when I have a family of my own that it will be a great source of happiness to all of us. I know that God loves each and every individual person out there, and that he wants everybody to experience the love and joy that He feels. I have had personal experiences in my life where it feels like there is just no end to the trials. So often in this world today we see people that believe that during those times of trial that God has forgotten about them. I know from my own personal experiences that it is during those times that God has not forgotten about us, but in actuallity is probably watching closer than He ever has before. He wants to help us and all we have to do is reach out our hand, and accept the one that He is always offering. If I were to sum up why I am a Mormon in one simple sentence it would be this; "I am a Mormon because living the teachings of the church makes me happy, and I can feel the love of Heavenly Father in my life every day!"

How I live my faith

I live my faith in a lot of different ways. The teachings of Jesus Christ are such a part of our everday lives and really have the potential to bless us in every thing that we do. One of the ways that I am living my faith right now is by serving a two year church mission. I have volunteered for two years to devote my time and attention to teaching people about Jesus Christ and trying to give service to others. As a missionary we recieve a letter from the Prophet of our church telling us where we will be spending the next two years of our life and on the date assigned in the letter we pack up and head out. I have been in Japan for a little less than a year and a half now, and I have really enjoyed it! I have been to places all throughout the southern part of Japan and have gotten to explain all about the teachings of the church. One of my favorite areas that I have been to is a little island called Ishigaki! While on that island I had various responibilities involved with the unit of the church in that area. Some consisted of visiting the members of the church there and making sure that they were all doing all right, and to see if there was any ways that the church could help them. Another was somethign called Eikaiwa. It means English Conversation Class. As a missionary we teach a free English Class and I really enjoy doing that right now! I also live my faith by trying my hardest to keep the commandments that Jesus Christ has given us. Especially in high school following the commandments can be hard, and some times you stick out like a sore thumb, but I try my best to always be a good example of the beliefs that we have in our church and to help others see the joy that comes from following the commandments.

What will the Mormon missionaries talk about when they visit my home?

Nate
Right now I am serving as a Mormon Missionary and from my personal experience, the only thing that me and the missionaries that I know would like to talk about is a message that has blessed our lives, helped to make us happy, and will help strengthen families and individuals no matter what situation they may be in. The messages that we share consist of information about our church and beliefs that we have and would like to share. Show more Show less
